They're finally done! One thing I didn't mention yesterday is that I switched from an icelandic bind off to a surprisingly stretchy bind off for the thumbs. The icelandic looks very pretty but it doesn't have quite as much give to it. I had a little bit of the green yarn left and had considered... Continue Reading →
Pioneer Gloves progress (7)
One glove is done! There's a reason I was stalling. The thumbs are always so fiddly. It doesn't actually take that long to finish them, but it feels frustrating to have to pick up stitches, work a tiny number of stitches, and then bind off again almost right away. I did manage to pick up... Continue Reading →

I guess my self pep talk went well yesterday because I actually moved these along! I finished the bind off on this one glove and have started weaving in the ends. The other one is still waiting for me to do the second half of the bind off. I feel so much better now that... Continue Reading →
Pioneer Gloves progress (5)
Somehow these gloves have lingered for another whole week. I only managed to knit a couple rows on them over the weekend. I think the problem is that I am dreading doing the thumbs, which means I haven't been able to focus on these at all. Hopefully I can push through them soon. There's only... Continue Reading →
Pioneer Gloves progress (4)
I obviously didn't manage to finish these over the weekend. I did make decent progress, and am well into the final color. My plan is to use up as much as possible on this section. If I have any green left I will likely just do 1 row + bind off for the thumbs with... Continue Reading →
Pioneer Gloves progress (3)
It has been a busy day so there's not much progress to show. You can see I've just knit a few rounds past the split for the thumbs. I'd like to try to finish these this weekend, but I also need to get the other heel of my socks done before my next in-office day.... Continue Reading →
Pioneer Gloves progress (2)
I hope that folks in the US had a very lovely holiday! I spent a little of my day off working on these gloves. The main part of the gloves is done and I've just split for the thumbs. Last update I was a little worried about having enough yarn, but I'm a lot less... Continue Reading →

I always forget how much faster gloves are than socks. They're smaller and usually use a looser gage than socks, so it makes total sense that they'd be quick to knit. These are coming along very nicely. I just hope I have enough leftover yarn to finish them.
Pioneer Gloves started!
My cowl is done and is currently blocking, so I needed another project to keep me busy while I wait for it to dry. Since I loved the yarn from that project so much I decided to keep working with it. I picked out a simple pattern for some fingerless mitts that should be a... Continue Reading →
Fadewalker Mitts
I reclaimed the yarn from the glove I was making for my mom and cast on this pair for myself. It seemed a shame to throw out such beautiful yarn. Fingerless gloves are satisfyingly quick knits and it felt nice to finish something.
Unraveling
I started these gloves over a week ago. They were meant to be an xmas gift for my mom. I was working on them when I got the call last week that she had been rushed to the ER with chest pains. I brought them with me when I drove up to be with my... Continue Reading →
La Chocolatière Mitts Finished!
I finished my La Chocolatière fingerless gloves today. This was a very fun project and my only regret is that I won't be keeping them for myself!
