Visions of Reality, Planar Truths, and other Oddities

Rambling of the planes? Unheard of! And yet, here we are!

Author’s Note: More Planescape? Ravenloft too? In the same post? I thought I was retired too… I only post here once in a long time. Anyway, see ya once Wildspace Magazine releases the next issue.

Put your money where the mists are…

I forgot to post it here, but I did something about my complaints involving Hasbro yoinking my puppeteer parasite. I converted my 5E block back to 2E for Fraternity of Shadows’ Quoth the Raven fanzine. Also in that issue is a revamp of the Broken Cog cluster that started here. More Broken Cog content will follow, hopefully, in the form of a gazetteer. Such an undertaking might be a bit much for me, so there may be a call to aid in some time.

Please, check it out here.

Wildspace Magazine 3 Now Available!

The Piazza’s Spelljammer Magazine, Wildspace, is now available! The theme is “Groundling’s Guide”, which focuses on breaking down the setting for newcomers. I’ve contributed a few articles as well.

You may find it here.

Scribblings of Sigil & The Planes

Scribble this, write that.  So much to chronicle, so much happening at once!  It’s almost hard to trace.  How does one keep up?  It’s hard to say.  Makes you tired sometimes…

Author’s Note: There’s always something going on in the planes.  And for that matter, it’s always fun to come back to this stuff.  At least this time, only some of it is petty… and some is just recycling new cosmology material back into the wheel.  Though, I probably could have kept most of the NPCs instead of making new ones.

An Editor’s Look at Clueless Lore – The Cosmos and The Cage

For you, dear reader, I have a compilation of notes and records detailing strange things around the prime and the planes.  While much of it deals with Clueless Lore, I figure this would be a fascinating way to observe ignorance and arrogance around reality… to say nothing of righteous planar Sigil mentality!

Author’s Note: Two posts in two weeks!  ABSOLUTE MADNESS, I know.   And yes, part of this was taking shots at recent remakes.  But, I’ve also tried my best to make things interesting too.  I try to write more than simple piss takes, after all… beyond using non WotC approved language out of spite.  I need to do something besides stuff for this darn game.  I assure you all that I’m not a masochist.  I need to get to reading other games again, getting my tables to playing them and finding the motivation as such to make new content.  Wish me luck.  Anyway, may something here prove inspiring.

Ramon’s Guide to the Spelljammer Ward

More on The Spelljammer Ward?  But of course.  A brief primer that goes into more depth is surely needed, as only snippets have been touched on.  Yes, there is the Docker’s Catch club that tethers this realm to the Prime and to Sigil, but there’s so much more.  Having a membership certainly helps, especially with traversing this bloated burg turning city.  Measured by each side, it ain’t that big.  But, with both sides accounted for?  It certainly rivals Sigil or Bral.

Author’s Note: No map?  Yeah, I’m aware of that.  Urban planning isn’t quite my strength, let alone classical style.  Though, if someone wants to map the two sides of the Spelljammer Ward, let me know?  Anyway, I wanted to look at more behind these idea… the little marina that slowly evolved from just a weird club to its own society.

Ramon’s Extended Look for Planar Locales

A step out of retirement? Why yes! But, for what reason? Well, some mysterious Editor seems to goad and challenge me. Likewise, some Narrator seems to think lesser of me. So, I shall show them and regain any lost honor! Please, follow me on this journey. There are incredible places across the planes that neither of them have unveiled.

Author’s Note: Ramon is back?  What is this?  Yeah…  I dunno either.  I just can’t stay away, despite whatever Hasbro churns out.  Save for taking their stuff and making bits better, I don’t think I’ll pay much attention.  Honestly, I can’t say I have sampled much 5th Edition setting content beyond cruel parody (especially Ravenloft.)  So… onto some actual Planescape, I guess.  But first, let me admit that Rage of Elements for Pathfinder was part of my inspiration for this post….  A HUGE ONE at that.

An Editor’s Look at Clueless Lore – Shadows and Elements

What, you have expected me to do more?  I will comply this time.  It is because I love your presence, dear reader!  While the politicking, bickering and mischief of the fey is larger than most planars will ever realize; they are a piece in a larger puzzle.  The surface has been scratched on a theory of a Demiurge Cult, one that seeks to cloud visions of the planes with some corrupted new substitute.  Even the less extreme preserve the methods of the Wheel, but still force their new planar constructs in anyway.  But, as one as one isn’t lead astray by the machinations of artificial forms of intellect, disgruntled planars in search of usurping power or mad cultists; then I believe you’ll find the truth.

If that doesn’t work, then find enough Clear Minds who can help sort the truth.  In my case, travels lead me to what at first appeared to be a Mimir.  Much like the infamous Morte, I found another contender to rival his sheer audacity and other quirks.  Murvaye the “Demonic Skull” has aided me in my travels, mostly bickering about the locations and supplying useful anecdotes, while clarifying on others.  I found him floating along wreckage off the coast of Gloomport.  He tells of a great pirate battle between his crew of the undead and some clever swashbucklers.  He assures you, dear reader, that his evil empire will commence construction once he finds a suitable body.  He preceded to cackle wickedly soon after.  I question if the wandering bard known as Ramon had picked up such strange companions.  At least he isn’t Morte, which is a blessing.

Author’s Note: Doing things better than an evil megacorp like Hasbro and their puppets is only so much fun in the longterm.  I might finish this round or maybe another before reevaluating things again.  The upcoming remake for “Planescape” was the motive for this anyway, as spiteful as that may be.  I’ve come to realize that what will motivate me to make different stuff is running enough games in new systems for new groups.  With any luck, that day will come…  if I’m not too busy or others find some free time too.  By all means, I want to love the hobby again.  In the meantime, here is some content that’s cynical enough to fit the vibe of Planescape…  granted, I’m just burned out and cynical myself.  Uhhhh…  Enjoy!
