Losing interest

Before I was diagnosed with AuDHD, I always wondered why I could be very interested, fixated even, on certain things for a few very intense moments, and then, suddenly without cause, just totally lose that interest… I had never heard about hyperfocus and/or “autistic special interests” (more about that here). I just could not understand it. And it annoyed me a lot, especially when the fixation/focus had made me invest (money) in this interest, and then it “just” ends…

I’ve been browsing the web a bit about this, and tried to collect some info on it. I know that the autistic side deals differently with the interests compared to the ADHD side. And, of couse, these two mix it up. I found several things, copied them all, and then… I cheated a bit… 🫣I copied all the bits I found interesting into an AI app, and asked if it could compile a nice list for me. I know, people don’t like this. But, these days, due to missing my usual routine, due to all the last-minute extra things here and there, I am just so low on spoons… So, I’d rather be honest about having asked it for help. But, I did find the info that I wanted to share using the mighty Duck search engine.

Journal – Week 4, January 2026

Another week with the lovely Bas in my home. I had my physio twice this week, and I hope that Bas didn’t howl all the time that I was out… He was quiet when I got back, but I don’t know for how long… On Wednesday, mum and I went to Germany for groceries. On Wednesday eve, I went to my parents again. Helped dad with some things, and one thing didn’t go through… But that got rescheduled to Friday eve. And then, we (I say we, but it was all him 🏅) were finally be able to fix the stuff we’d been working on for a while now… The weekend was fairly quiet, but I felt a bit bläh, so I took it as easy as I could with reading, wtching TV, and getting a few chores done.

Weather forecast for two weeks for the town of Herpen. The red numbers show the highest expected temps, the blue ones show the lowest. Below is a bar, going from gray to bright yellow, showing the expected sun. There can be raindrops and/or lightning bolts in it, depending on the forecast.
Some sunnier days, not too warm, around freezing during the nights. If we really get this weather for this week, I guess it will be a decent week for sure, weather wise, at least.

👑 Game of Bonez 🦴

A bit of sillyness by Cynni and Gemini AI…

A while ago, I had the idea of a “Game of Bonez” image. But, AI wasn’t as good then as it is now. So, I tried it again, and I made an image of Bas, my parent’s Dachshund, sitting on the Iron Throne. Of course I made one with a choccy Lab as well, in Arwen’s honor. While I was giving AI the prompts for the image ideas that I had, the AI gave me some other prompt ideas as well.

I worked with the AI to feed it my ideas and thoughts, based partially on the suggestions that AI made to me. But, I kept steering the AI with my ideas and silliness. I didn’t want it all made by AI. I wanted AI to make my ideas work. I know I did copy the stuff that it came up with. And, I did read and edited stuff as well. Not just a blind copy and paste. If you are hating the AI stuff, then please don’t click the read more bit. It’s OK to have different opinions and feelings. If you’re curious to my ideas, and what Gemini did with them, and I with it… Then by all means, do click the read more link.

Getting some help…

…but still my work…

I know the AI “work” is on the rise. I know that people use it to make “quick” items, and they just copy and paste, and share it like it’s their work. Sure, they typed up the prompt… But many folks don’t even take the time to check that the “slob machine” has spit out…

Granted, I have been using it as well. I use it to make images, to write alt texts (but I do feed the prompts, and I add personal and additional info), and occasionally to sum up things that I have gathered from different sites. But the posts that I share here, although they do contain some AI stuff, my posts are all made by me.

Helping out

I am not the most handy person. I don’t have all the energy in the world, although my ADHD sometimes wishes I had. My hands aren’t the best. And I sometimes feel like I should be doing more…

But I try to be helpful to people. Especially to people that I know I can also count on when I am in need of some help myself. And I know that help can come in many ways. I used to be able to sometimes help people financially, but since the divorce and all that, I’ve been needing help myself at times, when it comes to that. Otherwise, I always try to do my best in any way that I can…

Silly image ideas…

…made “real” through Nano Banana Pro (AI).

I know, there are people that hate AI. And, I understand. Still, I use it from time to time to make some images, and/or to create alt texts for images (and some video even). Sometimes I use the AI bits to create new version, different versions, of old pictures that I took. Mostly, I have been using it to create images honoring Arwen, and/or to make silly images with my parent’s Dachshund Bas.

But sometimes, I have other silly ideas. I tried to create some images back when the AI thing was still considered new. So, many images looked a bit like your idea, but you had to be very lucky to get one that actually hit the mark. These days, the quality is a bit better, and the chances of you getting an image that is actually what you asked for it are higher as well. I tried to re-create some old ideas, and added some new ideas as well. So, if you are curious, and aren’t horrified by AI “slob”, then this may be a nice post for you to enjoy.

Journal – Week 3, January 2026

Well, what a week! I knew it would be a busy week, but I didn’t know that it would be this weird in so many ways. Finally being able to visit the gym and PT. Helping mum prepare the groceries before her surgery. Taking Bas home. Dad trying to get some attention, in his way… 😇 Trying to help dad, trying to help mum, stressing because comunication isn’t always their strongest suit, and last-minute things are stressful in so many ways… I did my best to cope, and this is how this weird week went… Well, at least the snow and ice had sodded off! There was some rain, but that’s not as bad as all the slippery stuff on the roads…

Weather forecast for two weeks for the town of Herpen. The red numbers show the highest expected temps, the blue ones show the lowest. Below is a bar, going from gray to bright yellow, showing the expected sun. There can be raindrops and/or lightning bolts in it, depending on the forecast.
Well, the temperatures are finally going back up again, which will mean that the snow and ice will finally go away… Not without making a mess of things first, of course… But, instead of snow and ice, we’re getting a lot of rain, according to this forecast. Still, I guess it’s better than the snow and ice, at least I can drive Skoosh again, and safely walk with Bas when he’s here. 🐾

It’s a “weird” month…

…that’s for sure…

The start of 2026 was a different one. I felt sad when I drove home alone for the first time, after spending new years at my parents’ place. Then, the weather got all messed up, and I didn’t feel safe to drive Skoosh. I was/am fortunate enough to have some simple cardio equipment in my home, so I did my best to exercise at home. Then, I could finally go to the gym again, but only for 2 nights. So, of course, my body acted up during those nights, and I wasn’t able to take “advantage” of finally being at the gym again.

The last few days have been different as well. I knew I would doggy-sit Bas when mum would have her surgery. But, dad first made it more challenging. And then mum did her usual “I thought your dad would tell you” trick, where I got stressed out. They sure know how to get me all worked up… I love them, and I want to help them as much as I can, but they don’t always make it easy for me, even though they know how my brain works, and that I’d really like to know things in advance, and all that…
