I'm curious about your different tricks to do this. I've been looking at mc.evolve~ and ways of generating pulse trains, either by multiplying a phasor and only keeping the <=1 values to be interpreted as "1", or by using a train operator.

I would like to synchronise the beginning and end of hanning, hamming, gaussian, AD envelopes, etc. to each pulse and its width, and also to control their duty cycles in time.

It might be very trivial, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet. Thank you for reading!

Using spectroscope with multichannel signal cable works but I need to keep clicking on those dots to observe every channel, 

I wanted to avoid to have to add a spectroscope for every channel.

Is there a spectroscope or an option that would show me the spectogam of all channels superposed, e.g. different colors, or in a grid? how it does it doesn't really matter much.

I had a few projects in the main Max 9 'Projects' file (Users>name>Documents>Max 9>Projects) but recently cleared them out and condensed what was in there to regular '.maxpat' files and moved them elsewhere, so the 'Projects' folder was totally empty.

I also have aliases (Mac's word for 'shortcuts') of some of the folders in that Max 9 filepath, like 'Library' and 'Recordings'.

A few days later I noticed that my alias for 'Projects' had the missing '?' decal in place of a folder, indicating the folder was missing. And, sure enough, I checked the Max 9 documents file and it was gone. I immediately checked bin, but it wasn't there either - the folder had just vanished.

I recreated it, and it was okay for another day or two, but once again it disappeared.

Anyone have any idea why this single empty folder is deleting itself? No other file or folder on my MacBook is doing this. I'm really at a loss here. I'm not experiencing any other issues of a similar kind - the laptop is barely a year old!

I'm using macOS 26.3, Max 9.1.2 (newest) on a 2024 MacBook Pro M4 Pro 16".

Since not everyone is on Discord, I wanted to share this project here as well.

This project is useful when you feel like playing music but don't have your guitar or piano, just your laptop and Max open. It was created for AZERTY keyboards, so remember to change your keyboard preferences to make it work with QWERTY.

: the objects don't seem to completely filter out keystrokes from Apple's system and typing. I mean, certain key combinations, when interspersed with special characters like '§(', won't be able to combine and be heard until an inner key is released. That's a shame.

I looked at the HID object, but it's incomprehensible to me. I don't seem to be getting any feedback from my keys.

Do you know if there's a workaround for this problem? Thanks a lot, sebairstein.

I've built a Max for Live plugin where the only thing I automate in Live is the preset number for a [pattrstorage] object. I'd rather be able to automate individual parameters also, but the two seem to cause too many conflicts, so I've settled on the preset-only approach, which is mostly working OK for me - essentially I just step through a bunch of presets over the course of my track.

I do have one issue though. It won't successfully recall the first preset I'm using. So I have an automation line that more-or-less just starts with preset 1 and then steps through sequentially 2,3,4 etc. However, it won't recall preset 1, despite an explicit automation point to do so. The only way I can get it to recall preset 1 is to have my automation briefly skip to another preset and back to 1, then it works correctly. It's kind of OK as a workaround, but not ideal.

Anyone know how I might sort this out? It occurs to me that it might be because I've set @parameter_enable 1 and @paraminitmode 1, as per the pattrstorage helpfile, which as I understand it embeds the presets in the device so they don't need to be saved manually (which in itself works fine and is definitely useful). I wonder if this is causing some sort of conflict?
