Research Design & Methods: The applied research method is the analysis of theoretical and empirical articles on comparative international entrepreneurship published in the years 1989-2018. On this basis, the Author formulates propositions of problems suitable for the scientific exploration in the future in the stream of comparative research. Findings: Comparative international entrepreneurship is one of three research domains of international entrepreneurship. We can identify here a few important problems for future research, which concern institutional and cultural conditionings of entrepreneurship, the operationalisation of entrepreneurship and the assessment of the effects of entrepreneurship for the economic growth and development. Implications & Recommendations: It is recommended to conduct theoretical and empirical in-depth research into international entrepreneurship in the comparative approach. It is of great cognitive importance for the development of the discipline and of utilitarian importance both for entrepreneurs-the micro level and economic decisionmakers-the macro level. Contribution & Value Added: The article fills a research gap related to the conceptual embedment of comparative international entrepreneurship and is one of the first articles to review the literature concerning this problem. Article type: conceptual article

The objective of the study was to verify the relationship between risk-taking and innovativeness, on the one hand, and proactiveness on the other hand, as three elements of entrepreneurial orientation of internationalized firms. The main research question the article answers is: In what way do risk-taking and innovativeness influence proactiveness within the interrelated three-dimensional construct of entrepreneurial orientation? The article employs structural equation modelling (CB-SEM) to analyse survey results based on a stratified sampling of 355 internationalized firms from Poland. The empirical findings demonstrate the positive impact of risk-taking (RISK) and innovativeness (INNO) on proactiveness (PROACT) within the interrelated three-dimensional construct of entrepreneurial orientation. Moreover, the level of risktaking (RISK) and innovativeness (INNO) accounts for 36% of the variation in proactiveness (PROACT), which is considered high in social sciences, including business studies.

In this paper we have presented a broad review of the literature, which shows that resources and competencies are two fundamental aspects that play vital roles in the internationalisation of firms. The novelty of this article lies in selecting Poland as a post-emerging economy, and such countries as being late comers to international business are still not well explored in the literature. The article uses own primary data based on a survey questionnaire. We used a quantitative approach. We applied simple and multiple logistic regression to verify the impact of resources and competences and their individual components on the creation of an international strategy in the firm. We have proved that resources and competences have a significant impact on the creation of an international strategy in internationalised firms from Poland. The results for specific individual resources and competences are no longer so clear-cut.

Objectives: This article aims to present the results of our empirical research among students of economics and business from Central and Eastern Europe on the advantages and disadvantages of e-learning. Methods/Approach: The article uses a survey, and the research sample included 1647 respondents (students of economics and business) from universities in three countries: Croatia, Poland, and Serbia. We used the multivariate comparative analysis (factor analysis and principal components analysis) by applying Statistica computer software. Results: The assessment of individual forms of e-learning in the three countries is similar. In e-learning, investigated students appreciated, first of all, the time-saving. At the same time, it is difficult to concentrate and harder to develop the interpersonal skills needed to work in a real environment. Co...

Research Design & Methods: The article is a literature review of narrative type. The research method we employed is content analysis and synthesis by causal assessment. We used the newest publications, primarily articles from renowned journals indexed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. Findings: Entrepreneurship is a multi-thread, interdisciplinary, and multidisciplinary area of research. We may analyse entrepreneurship as a function of: personality, managerial activities, the individual entrepreneur, the market, the SME sector in the economy, self-employment, economic production factor. Many types and categories of entrepreneurship described in the literature have developed over the years, which resulted in a broad diversity of subjects in the field. The evolution of entrepreneurship studies highlights the changing conditions for entrepreneurship and provides new perspectives. Implications & Recommendations: This article responds to the fragmentation and dispersion of research efforts, summarizing achievements in the field of entrepreneurship studies at the intersection of two disciplines: economics and management. We discuss the most important questions of entrepreneurship synthetically and exhaustively, which allows us to delineate up-to-date and more understandable themes for both researchers and practitioners. Contribution & Value Added: The article's added value consists in the updated and synthetic presentation of entrepreneurship's most important aspects and areas. The overview presents the current state of the art on entrepreneurship, its functions, classifications, and research directions. Article type: literature review

The socialist or communist economic systems discriminated against the entrepreneurial activity. This article aims to supplement the knowledge about the state, intensity, and research trends on entrepreneurship in CEE countries. The systematic literature review covers over 30 years (1980-2021). The bibliometric analysis was conducted using the VOSviewer software. The regional output in quantitative terms is relatively smaller in comparison to the global academia, although it addresses basically the same topics as the world literature. CEE researchers undertake, in principle, the same research threads as the entire academic community worldwide. CEE researchers publish their work on Central Europe mainly in journals of regional publishers. The two currently leading regional scientific journals on entrepreneurship are Entrepreneurship and Sustainab...

The article assesses this relationship in terms of the internationalisation scope. We adopted a quantitative research design and conducted a CATI survey on a sample of 355 firms operating in Poland. To verify the various assumed relationships, we used statistical instruments, including descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. Entrepreneurial orientation influences the innovations of internationalized firms. The impact depends on the scope of internationalization and is U-shaped. The impact of entrepreneurial orientation on innovation is greater for firms with large and small scope of internationalization. A relatively lower impact of entrepreneurial orientation on innovation is visible for firms with a moderate scope of internationalization. The study is an original contribution to the literature....

This concept was initiated in the international arena, however, it is the subject of special attention from the European Union. The idea concerns three areas of modern development: social, economic and environmental. The aim of this article is to evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of the sustainable development strategy in the European Union and the comparison of its level in individual countries. In addition, the work is an example of the taxonomic measure used as an indicator of sustainable development. The period of analysis is between 2004 and 2014. The methodology used in the work is the analysis and synthesis of the literature, the EU documentation and statistical and taxonomic quantitative methods. The scrutiny shows that the level of sustainable development is very diverse in the EU countries. Member countries to a greater or lesser extent pursue the policy goals, but there is a lack of integrated approach and convergence in this area. The reason for this may be too large structural diversity of the Member States, and thus the discrepancy of development priorities.

We outline the importance of multi-country studies of entrepreneurial activity in enabling the comparison and replication of research and generating meaningful contributions to scholarship, practice, and policy. Our systematic review classifies research findings into four levels—individual, firm, industry, and country—each with respect to characteristics, antecedents, and outcomes of entrepreneurial activities as well as theory and methodology. Taken together, our review highlights the heterogeneous nature of entrepreneurship across countries and its role in explaining outcomes at firm (e.g., financial and export performance) and country (e.g., economic growth) levels as well as antecedents at the country level (e.g., culture). We find the CIE literature is highly fragmented with substantial knowledge gaps related t...

It is shown that, in the low-temperature region, the thermal conductivity of the compounds has a sharp maximum and the electrical conductivity of the samples increases with temperature, whereas the Seebeck coefficient behaves nonmonotonically with increasing temperature. The SmCoO3 oxide is characterized by the positive thermopower over the entire investigated range with a sharp growth in the low-temperature region, attaining the maximum value (S ≈ 1000 µV/K) near room temperature, and a further decrease. It has been established that, in the NdCoO3 oxide, the Seebeck coefficient changes its sign, which was rarely observed in the La-based compounds and is atypical of the undoped rare-earth cobalt oxides. The thermopower maximum obtained at a temperature of 450 K is 400 µV/K. The regions of the fastest growth of the thermoelectric power factor correspond to the anomalies caused by the spin transition of Со 3+ ions and the dielectricmetal transition.
