How do I describe myself?
Oxymoronic. Successful failure. I am an autodidact, crowd teacher, passionate to learn and teach, researching on happiness, poverty, inequality and aging society. Always chasing goal posts that are not fixed in one discipline and recently got a score of 4.75 in Grit, more than 90% Americans, confirming my oxymoronicity. Journey so far
I began my learning journey as a small town boy at Vijayanagaram studying full five years with only two text volumes. The text records are known as Chinna Bala Sikhsha and Pedda Bala Sikhsha. The two records I studied consisted of all the subjects and usually single teacher used to teach a mix of subjects to focus on memorizing everything in a textbook. I could understand how atheist's thoughts by Vemana and readings of Ramayana word by word will serve me in my life; one emphasized social consciousness and other developing character. My grandmother a single woman widowed at the age of twenty-four provided all needed emotional support. Read slowly and remembering every word and finding appropriate meaning for the word and then offering an explanation and summary for each poem or paragraph are some of the skills stressed. My maternal uncle bought for me Soviet books in Telugu, which offered me a window to the world; I told myself I will be one day like Yuri Gagarin. When I came back to the city, I was given different books for each topic. It took five years for me to unlearn that subjects are different and need to learn them separately after facing ridicule from peers to teachers for having different opinions about learning. My ability to create narratives is considered as the creator of cock and bull stories. Attempting to interpret every word is thought to be unfashionable. Underestimated for lack of apprehension of English speaking skills coming from a school for subaltern society, I found it almost difficult to study my pre university course. After various years, I understood that learning is interconnected and need not be in silos and plasticity of brain and brain based learning did provide cues for me that my learning of all fields together is one of the best ways to take account the interdisciplinary nature of learning and find fulfilment. My esteem for my teachers who instructed me early in life makes me to fold my hands and work in fear towards the sky as they are no more whenever I am valued by my pupils. My life focus is lifelong learning and wishes to be like Randy Pauch who learnt and taught every minute of living.
I learn and share knowledge on Research Methodology, Behavioral Economics, Advanced Statistics, Business Models, Data Analytics and Business Ethics. I possess considerable expertise in Multivariate Analysis. I am keen on designing training programs on Business Modeling for nonprofit organizations and authoring articles and books based on multidisciplinary research in the areas of multidimensional poverty, inequality, voluntary simplicity, frugal innovations and sustainable growth.
What I want to be?
I wish to be known as a researcher in the areas of happiness, poverty, inequality, aging and social forecasting wish to die in a classroom either teaching or learning.
