Women's Water Polo World University Games

We are thrilled to share that the United States Organizing Committee for the World University Games has invited the UCLA Women’s Water Polo team to represent the United States at the 2025 World University Games, held in Germany from July 16–27 across five cities in the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region and Berlin. The World University Games is the second-largest international multi-sport event, bringing together over 10,500 athletes from across the globe, competing in 18 sports at 23 different venues. The event includes an opening and closing ceremony that mirrors the grandeur of the Olympic Games.

This will be the first time our program will represent our country on the world stage and first time in a decade that a single university will represent the country for women’s water polo. This once-in-a-lifetime experience provides our athletes with international competition exposure against some of the world’s best players.

As many of you know, NCAA rules require us to operate as a club program during the summer, meaning UCLA cannot fund any expenses. We are seeking your support to help offset costs for our student-athletes and ensure they have the opportunity to train and compete at the highest level.

Should this fund reach the campus minimum required for the establishment of an endowment or quasi-endowment, The UCLA Foundation reserves the right to convert this fund to an endowment or quasi-endowment.
