I was inspired by the mug and the New Year to create a Clean and Simple card with a dainty teacup and a few Chinese lanterns to welcome in a little luck for the upcoming Year of the Horse! I used a delicate origami paper piece to create the teacup, and sparkly red glitter paper for the lanterns for a simple but striking look.

It’s beginning to look a little warm and cozy for Christmas with this month’s challenge from The Card Concept, Christmas Gathering! With this beautiful cozy Christmas palette of red, white, green, and black, it’s easy to create a holiday scene that calls us to gather.

I was inspired by the Christmas colors, the wreath in the window, and the concept of gathering. A green holiday wreath or bough always calls together a cardinal or two, and I featured them in my Clean and Layered card.

It’s time for Challenge #219, Birds and Blooms. I love butterflies, and their importance to our ecosystem. I was inspired by the bright colors and shades of orange on the delicate wings, and the bright pop of the butterfly bush, and used them in my Clean and Layered card. My favorite style uses lots of layers of paper and color to create dimensional pops.

Today I am playing along with Altenew’s beautiful August Inspiration Challenge. I love using Altenew’s amazing creative layering dies to create beautiful floral projects. This month’s challenge was perfect for the Jumbo Garden Picks Layering Die Set. The color palette was bright pinks and yellows and a dark green. and I combined them all to create this!

This was a fun challenge, because it reminded me of all of the fun I had at the beach when I was young, collecting shells, dashing through the waves, and being absolutely fearless! Wouldn’t it be great if we could do that today – be absolutely fearless?

I was inspired by the deep blues of this nautical palette, and used them in my Clean and Layered card with my fearless little boat captain.

I’m so glad you could join us at The Card Concept this month for a fresh floral design, Floral Heart! I love the contrast in this month’s inspiration photo. We’ve got bright, beautiful flowers against a crisp, snowy white background. I tried a number of different combinations with hearts and flowers until I decided to add the book and the entire piece came together. I used pinks, greens, and a splash of yellow to create this Clean and Layered card.
