Year Zero Comic and Synopsis, (kinda lol)
So, as like None of you know, I'm writing a comic (maybe?) with
If you guys don't know the whole story of Year Zero you should go here and read about it. It's intense, and amazing, and really fucking scary, mostly because it could (and probably will) happen.
For those of you who won't go look, and will just be confused, I'll try to explain breifly. it'll be shit, and I'll make it sound bad, but I'ma try.
Taking place in 2022, for some reason, church and state murge into one, creating a theocracy, and it's all insanity, as the government has suspended Habius Corpus, making quite alot of things illegal, and the state is running under a church known as The Church of Plano, saying that "whoever resists, resists God," which, in a theocracy is probably the worst thing you can do. The government also intriduces a fictional drug known as Paprin into the water, to "protect the public from future bioterrorist attacks" which have been happening more frequently, as a method to combat all disease, while there was no scientific evidence to support this claim, but instead is being used to suppress the population, keeping them in a apathetic carefree state. Discontinuing use of Paprin leads to clarity of thought the government insists if mere paranoia.
They arn't just druging people either. In order to drive, get married, have children ect. (all of which require licenses in the AU) one must be implanted with what is called a Nerochip,(mainly men and criminals) in order to track actions and wherabouts. The chips are also avalible in earings for women and celebrities who don't want the implants. People who resist this movment (and any and all movements brought about by the Administration) are known as Rebels and are charged with Treason, often disaprearing from their homes without a trace, or, if they openly rebel, are captured and executed.
There are different types of the Resisstance movements going on underground amidst the black markets, those who support Violent rebellion, and those who want to use peacefull means.
Meanwhile, whilst all of this is going on The Presence is showing up around the world. The Presence is represented as a ghostly arm reaching down from the sky. It was initially thought to be an Opal (a druge like cocain or haroine, a black luquid, typically injected into the eyes) or Parepin-related hallucination, but this was debunked by people who claim to have seen or been affected by The Presence, but who are not under the effects of Opal or Parepin. It has been suggested, however, that use of Opal or Parepin may intensify or increase the frequency of these encounters. People who have been affected by The Presence have described feelings of intense fear, insignificance, astonishment, and forgetfulness. Whether the Presence is government related or not is disputed. A key note to the information regarding the Presence is that there are pictures documenting the image of the presence. This lends credence to the theory that the Presence is a corporeal entity. There are thoughts that The Presence is literally the arm of God, reaching down almost in responce to the utter maddness going on down below.
Ooookay. So. That got kind of long, and intense,(and I could write an entire essay on this shit, you guys) but this is the worl that this comic takes place in, and is esencially the story of five kids trying to survive, staring the apocolypse right in the face.
Here's your art :D
