Easy Pagan Crafts for Fundraising

I'm Av.
I organized my state's first Yule Ball in June (yep, Southern Hemisphere witch here) this year.
For 2013 I'm aiming to make it even better, so I'm bringing Spiral Dance down. (A great band - if you haven't heard of them, check them out.)
It's going to cost a fair bit but it will be well worth it, they're amazing live. They were at the Australian Wiccan Conference last year and, geez, they went off!

So, I'm organizing a stall at a massive folk festival in very early January to raise money for their flights etc.

A group of us are getting together to make Pagan crafts for the stall, but it's a busy time of year so we'll only have one or two evenings to make everything. PLEASE tell me any good ideas for crafts we can make.

So far runes and DIY prayer flag kits have been suggested. The Pagans from up North are making wands and also bags of dried herbs along with herb lore cards.

In conclusion: Fundraising stall, need [quick/easy/cheap/all 3] craft ideas.

I Need Your ~Manly Advice!
Okay, so, I'm working on the "memory box" that I'm making for my boyfriend for Christmas. Once it's done, I'm going to put little love notes, some pictures, some cute things that make me think of him, worry dolls, etc.

Here's the picture of the completed box -- hardware-wise. Does it look "manly" enough?

The pictures make it look darker than it really is. It's actually a light brown color, and the pearls are actually silvery (not girly white). And I guess it doesn't help that the wood of my desk is super dark. -____-

Full Moon Tree of Life Pendant Trilogy
My Under A Halloween Moon tree of life pendant has been a HUGE success for me. People really love it. And in the past, I've offered other versions of the "full moon" style on a very limited, custom order basis. That, however, has changed.

Now you can also order two additional versions; Under A Full Moon (silver wire with a white moon) AND "Once In A Blue Moon" (silver wire with a blue moon.) This completes my full moon "trilogy" as it were. ;)

Between two new trees - a multi colored Opal and a watermelon tourmaline - and two pairs of sterling hoops (rainbow gemstone and emerald green aventurine) and even a new pair of 14k gold threader earrings in a rainbow of color, there's a lot more variety available right now in the shop!

What's new at PhoenixFireDesigns.etsy.com!
Well, first off, after spending the ENTIRE summer on medications trying to get myself safe enough for surgery, looks like my hysterectomy will be on October 5th.

For those who've missed the updates, I'm 34 and over Memorial Day weekend, I went into the ER in massive pain, only to discover my uterus is full of tumors. Literally pounds of them. So much in fact, I was unsafe for surgery. I have over $10,000 in hospital bills and trying to raise the final $600 I need for surgery. (Of a total of $2,600 total.)

I've been on UNPAID medical leave this whole time (my last paycheck was June 3rd) so trying to pay my regular bills has been a challenge, let alone raising EXTRA money for surgery.

So here's a look at what's new in my shop. Sales help me with living expenses, medical bills and surgery costs. All the info can be found here.

PhoenixFire Designs Shop Update
Well, we're about 7 weeks into this unpaid medical leave bit and I'm getting nervous about the ever-decreasing balance in my account. I've been trying to get new items listed inbetween medication side effects, a/c failures and doctor's appointments so I thought I'd profile some of the newer items and available items to help drum up sales and attention to the shop.

Medical Fundraising for Needed Surgery

Memorial Day Weekend I went into the ER after two days of non-stop severe pain. Many tests and an overnight stay later, it turns out that my uterus is full of tumors.I have multiple softball and multiple baseball sized fibroid tumors and equally large cysts. The total mass is approximately the size of a basketball.

I was on a fast-track for a hysterectomy when my OB/GYN discovered that it was worse then initially believed and I'm too high risk for surgery. High risk is 250 grams of tumors. I'm at over 1,200 grams. I am now on a shot to induce medical menopause in order to attempt to shrink the tumors prior to surgery. The larger the tumors, the more complicated and lengthy the surgery, the more time I will be under anesthesia, the more complications and blood transfusions I will need. So we're trying to get them shrunk at least half.

I work a part-time job that does NOT give me insurance. I also do NOT get paid for any time off period. So I’m already out two weeks of pay with many more to come. (When I do have surgery, I'll be out 4 weeks in unpaid recovery as well.) I have already applied for and been denied financial and medical assistance by the state. I’m asking anyone who can help for your support as a result.

I need a total of $2,600 just to pay my OB/GYN, $1,400 of which must be up front before the surgery. This does NOT include the hospital, anesthesiologist, radiology, etc. It also does NOT include the fees for the office visits and tests pre-op. (I’ve already spend $463 on those as of June 7th)

 Newbie here.. this looked like a really nice community to join so here I am I guess! ^^;
Anywho, I love sculpting! I usually like to sculpt animals, especially ones that most people don't touch. I've always felt a deep connection to critters. I'd like to share some of my stuff with you guys if you'd like to see. Hrmm what to share.. Ooh I know !
 

This little guy is a tea light holder! I absolutely love candle holders, incense burners, and the like, so I recently decided to try making some. Since I was a kid I had a fear of fire. As corny as it is, making these candle holders has helped me with my fear. I try to embrace this element in this way.Okayyy I guess I've posted enough for now! OH wait.. New Chain Mail Pendants
I'm still pretty new to chain mail but I wanted to show off the two pendants I recently made since I'm really proud of how they came out.

Both are the "Stepping Stones" pattern. One is in all silver; the other a mix of silver and rainbow. I made the silver one first then realized the rainbow would be perfect in this pattern. I thought it'd be a really nice pride/equality piece. This pattern is very labor intensive but creates stunning results!

Stunning micro faceted citrine tree of life pendant
I was able recently to purchase some absolutely stunning AAA-grade, micro faceted rondelle citrine gemstones. This citrine is shaded in a lovely range of colors from clear, through a champagne tone, into a dark, amber honey shade. It’s clear, flawless and sparkles like crazy. I can't say enough about how lovely these gems are! Grin Using sterling silver wire, I took these gorgeous gems and made the most amazing Tree of Life pendant.



Citrine is a semi-precious stone in the quartz family. Citrine has been called the "stone of the mind" and is known as the lucky "Merchants Stone". It's said to bring luck to those in sales by placing a piece in the cash drawer. Citrine is also used as an alternative to the November birthstone, Yellow Topaz, due to it's similar color. The pendant is approximately 1.5" by 1.25" in width making it a lovely size.

I love when I can work with super luxe stones. In my budget it doesn't happen often enough so it's always so exciting for a bead-hound like myself. It's available for purchase HERE.
