Most CppCon talks focus specifically on the C++ language and libraries written in C++, but there is an increasing wealth of development environments, build systems, and package management ecosystems that support software development in C++ that are not necessarily C++ projects themselves.
This track exists to explore the world of tools that make C++ development easier, more efficient, safer, or otherwise better. We’ve presented tooling sessions in the past, but starting in 2022, we decided to create a dedicated track to support and highlight the opportunities available to C++ developers and the work being done in this area. The Tooling Track hosts a great set of talks every year, which by virtue of the universality of the topic, appeal to a large cohort of the C++ community.
The Tooling Track has previously covered, and continues to cover topics like:
- The latest developments in build systems and package management
- Language interoperability with C++
- Deep-dives into C++ toolchains
- Cutting-edge debugging techniques
- Tools that help C++ developers write better systems and be more productive
