Getting Started

What is Covenant AI Video Colorizer?

Covenant AI Video Colorizer is an AI-powered software that allows users to colorize black-and-white films, documentaries, home videos, and historical footage. The software processes each frame of your video through our API, applying AI-driven colorization to bring your media to life.

How do I get started with Covenant AI?

To begin using Covenant AI, follow these steps:

  1. Download the software from our website.
  2. Choose a subscription plan on RapidAPI to gain access to our API.
  3. Connect your API credentials in the software to start colorizing your videos.

Subscription & Pricing

How does the subscription system work?

Covenant AI operates on a subscription model through RapidAPI. Each subscription tier provides a set number of credits per month, which are used to process frames. Higher-tier plans offer more credits and better pricing per frame.

What happens if I run out of credits?

If you exceed your monthly credit limit, you can continue using the API, but you will be charged overage fees based on the pricing outlined in your subscription plan. You can also purchase additional credits or upgrade to a higher-tier plan to avoid overage charges.

Can I change my subscription plan later?

Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan anytime through RapidAPI. Changes take effect based on RapidAPI’s billing policies.

How much does it cost to colorize a video?

The cost depends on the resolution you select:

  • SD (Standard Definition) – 1 credit per frame
  • HD (High Definition) – 2 credits per frame
  • 4K (Ultra High Definition) – 3 credits per frame
Your total cost will depend on the length of your video and the resolution you choose.

Using the Software

How do I connect my API credentials to the software?
After subscribing on RapidAPI, you will receive API credentials. Enter these credentials in the software’s settings to activate colorization features. If you need help, check out our video guide for step-by-step instructions.
What file types does Covenant AI support?

Covenant AI supports all common (and some uncommon) video formats, including MP4, AVI, MOV, MKV, and MXF ensuring compatibility with most film and video sources. If your video is in a different format, we recommend converting it to one of these standard formats in order to colorize with our software.

What resolutions does Covenant AI support?

The software allows colorization in SD, HD, 4K, and higher resolutions. Keep in mind that higher resolutions require more credits per frame.

Can I preview the colorization before processing an entire video?

Yes! Our software displays a visual preview of the film as it’s being colorized. Certain selections in our software allow you to generate a preview using a sample of keyframes before colorizing the full video. This helps ensure that the AI-generated colors align with your expectations.

How long does it take to colorize a video?

The processing time depends on the length of the video, the hardware of your computer, resolution selected, and your internet speed. Generally, shorter videos can be processed in minutes, while longer films may take hours.

Technical & Troubleshooting

What are the system requirements for Covenant AI?

The software is designed to run efficiently on modern Windows systems and will soon be available for MacOS systems as well. A stable internet connection is required to communicate with the API.

My software isn’t recognizing my API credentials. What should I do?

Double-check that you’ve entered your API key correctly and that your RapidAPI subscription is active. If the issue persists, try restarting the software and double-check your internet connection.

Known Issues

Conflicts with Cloud Backup Solutions

We have identified that some cloud backup solutions, including Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, iCloud, IDrive, and similar services, may cause conflicts with our software. These conflicts occur because these services often attempt to back up newly created files immediately after they are generated. This can result in our program being unable to access these files, causing errors or interruptions in functionality.

To avoid such issues, we recommend temporarily disabling cloud backup services while running the colorization software. Once the process is complete and all files are finalized, you can re-enable your cloud backup solutions to ensure your files are securely stored.

Thank you for your understanding as we work to improve compatibility with these services in future updates. If you encounter any persistent issues, please reach out to our support team for assistance.

Miscellaneous

Is the colorization historically accurate?

While Covenant AI uses advanced machine learning to predict colors based on context, the results are based on AI estimations rather than exact historical records. For projects requiring strict historical accuracy, manual color correction may be necessary.

Can I use Covenant AI for commercial projects?

Yes! Many users utilize Covenant AI for commercial projects, including documentary restoration, digital content creation, and film production. Check your subscription plan for any usage limitations.

Do I own the rights to my colorized videos?

Yes, as long as you are already the rights owner, you continue to retain full ownership of any video you process using Covenant AI. The software simply provides the tools to colorize your footage.
