In-house training for engineering organisations

Your teams know the framework. Delivery is still unpredictable.

Most training teaches the method. Ours changes how your organisation delivers. Short sessions applied inside your real work, spread across weeks, until it sticks. Trusted by Boeing, Philips, and Lockheed Martin.

Where to start

Most organisations come to us with one of four problems.

If yours is here, the programmes and tracks below are built around it.

Teams that can't predict delivery

Certified practitioners, recurring missed commitments. The framework is understood; the organisation still can't forecast or trust its own estimates.

Start with the Practitioners track

Products nobody uses

Development is busy, discovery is thin. Product owners are coordinating backlogs instead of shaping value, and teams are building what's asked, not what's needed.

Start with the Product Leaders track

Technical debt slowing everything

Velocity is declining, quality incidents are climbing, and AI tools are landing in teams that can't safely use them yet. Engineering excellence can't wait.

Start with the Engineering track

Leaders who can't see what's wrong

The process looks right on paper. Nobody can tell you why delivery feels unpredictable, or where to intervene first. The problem is systemic, not individual.

Engineering organisations that needed delivery to improve. Not just teams that needed training.

Why immersive training pays back

The investment that doesn't evaporate.

A two-day course costs roughly the same as an immersive programme. The difference is what you get twelve weeks later. After a standard course, most capability fades within a month. Teams return to a backlog that built up while they were out, and new practices get deferred. Immersive training runs short sessions over several weeks, with each idea applied inside your real work between them. Capability builds incrementally and stays, because it was never separate from the job.

Hands-on

You practise with real artefacts and scenarios, not slides.

Problem-centred

We work the real challenges your teams and products face.

Immediately useful

Every model and tool is applied the same day.

Respects experience

We build on what you already know instead of arguing theory.

Immersive is our default, because it's the only format built to produce durable change. When schedules genuinely can't flex we also run staggered, full, and half-day classes, and we'll be straight about what each one trades off.

Your trainer

Your trainer spends 80% of his time consulting, coding, and building products.

That means everything taught in the room was in use last week. Not last decade. I'm Martin Hinshelwood, and training is the smaller part of what I do, which is exactly why it's worth your team's time.

I've delivered training and advised leadership teams at Boeing, Philips, Lockheed Martin, and the UK Government's DWP, organisations where delivery failure has real operational consequences, not just retrospective awkwardness.

Every model I teach is one I still use with clients. That's why I can tell you where it works, where it breaks, and what to do when your situation doesn't match the textbook.

I'm a Professional Scrum Trainer with Scrum.org. The certification is the floor, not the ceiling. What matters is what your team does differently once they're back at work.

Practitioners

Practitioners

You run the events, manage the flow, and coach the team — and delivery still isn't as predictable as it should be. This track sharpens the daily craft of facilitation, flow, coaching, and improving how work actually gets done.

Product Leaders

Product Leaders

Your teams are busy, but what ships isn't landing with customers. For Product Owners and Product Managers turning strategy into an ordered backlog, aligned stakeholders, and value you can measure.

Change Leaders

Change Leaders

You've lived through a change effort that didn't stick. For those navigating resistance, designing change strategies, and sustaining adoption as teams and systems shift to new ways of working.

Leaders and Executives

Leaders and Executives

Delivery looks right on paper, but you can't see where to intervene. For senior leaders tackling the funding models, governance, culture, and evidence-based decisions that enable agile organisations at scale.

Developers and Engineers

Developers and Engineers

Velocity is falling, quality incidents are climbing, and the shortcuts are compounding. For developers and engineers rebuilding the technical practices behind agility — test-driven development, continuous integration, refactoring, and emergent design.

Teams

Teams

Your team ships, but it doesn't gel — unclear purpose, thin trust, no habit of improvement. For cross-functional groups building shared purpose, self-organisation, psychological safety, and the discipline of continuous improvement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions we hear before every engagement.

If your question isn't here, ask us directly.

Talk to us first. We will tell you honestly whether training is even the right intervention for your situation. Our immersive programmes include consulting and coaching between sessions, and we offer 1:1 leadership coaching for executives and managers. If training is not what you need, we will say so.

We monitor engagement and energy throughout every session, not just at the end. After the class we compile all participant feedback and scores into a structured report, and we publish independent reviews on Trustpilot so you can read unfiltered opinions from past participants before you commit.

Every participant gives us feedback. We track scores across deliveries and publish them publicly on Trustpilot. If something is not working, we find out fast and fix it.

Certificated courses follow a defined syllabus — that is what gives the credential its value. Within that, our immersive format includes debrief and coaching sessions between class days where we address your specific organisational issues directly. If you need something built around your context from the ground up, we can design a custom programme for you.

Continuously. We spend most of our time consulting with teams on the front line of product development, engineering practice, and organisational change. New ideas and approaches flow back into our training in real time. No two deliveries are identical because we are always learning.

Every engagement ends with a detailed report. We collect every answer, exercise output, and question raised during the sessions, synthesise it all, and produce a written summary of the group’s key learnings and outcomes. Participants and sponsors receive something concrete they can act on — not just a certificate.

We create our own content or deliver it under licence from recognised authorities including Scrum.org, ProKanban.org, and Accentient. Nothing is sourced from generic content mills or written by people who have never done the work.

Yes. Because we consult on real delivery, product, and engineering problems every day, our methods evolve constantly. We do not update our approach once a year at a curriculum review — we update it every time we learn something new in the field, which is continuously.

Yes. Our courses qualify for PDUs with PMI and contribute to continuing development requirements with other professional bodies. Ask us about the specific credits available for the course you are considering.

Martin Hinshelwood has been a Microsoft MVP in DevOps for 18 years, a Professional Scrum Trainer for 16 years, and a Professional Kanban Trainer for 8 years. He has written multiple books on DevOps and engineering leadership and runs an active consulting practice working with software teams every day. Trainer quality is validated through structured participant feedback after every delivery and through continuous practice in the field.

Our immersive classes are delivered online in half-day sessions every two weeks, giving participants time to practise what they have learned, observe the results in their teams, and bring real questions back to the next session — a deliberate OODA loop built into the learning design. Where you need coverage across time zones or multiple cohorts, we bring in additional trainers of the same calibre to maintain consistency.

Yes. If the group does not get value from the training, you get your money back.

Not sure what would actually move the needle?

Most organisations don't need a course catalogue. They need a diagnosis. Tell me what's not working, who is involved, and what you've already tried. I'll tell you honestly whether training will help, and if so, what.
