Aces High - Witold Urbanowicz

After a momentary break

Hello, despite the silence on the blog, something is happening in my ranks :)

On Monday I fought several battles, but since the planes were "borrowed" I decided not to report these events.

As for the progress in action, another fighter ace is added to the collection - Witold Urbanowicz!

Of course, I don't have him in my card collection yet, but it's easier to make up for it here than in the case of Adolf Galland ;)

He was the first to shoot down a Soviet observation plane in the PZL P.11, which he flew before the war.

The next one should be the missing PZL P.7a, which he flew in September 1939 as an instructor at the aviation school in Dęblin.

Hurricane Mk. And in the colors of No. 145 Squadron RAF, in which he achieved his first successes in the West.

 

 

Next is the Hurricane Mk.I again, but this time in the colors of the 303rd RAF Squadron, this time typically Polish :)

 

After re-arming with Spitifre Mk. II, Witold Urbanowicz still served in the 303rd Squadron.

 

After being delegated to the Far East, he flew several flights in the P-40E, 75th FS USAAF.

Cześć, mimo ciszy na blogu, coś się dzieje w moich szeregach :)

W poniedziałek rozegrałem kilka bitew, ale w związku z tym, że samoloty były "wypożyczone" postanowiłem nie raportować tych wydarzeń.

Co do postępów w działaniu, to do kolekcji wlatuje następny As myśliwski - Witold Urbanowicz!

Oczywiście, jego także nie mam jeszcze w kolekcji kart, ale tutaj łatwiej to nadrobić niż w przypadku Adolfa Gallanda ;)

 Jako pierwszy PZL P.11, na którym latał przed wojną, dokonując (niepotwierdzonego) pierwszego zestrzelenie radzieckiego samolotu obserwacyjnego.

Kolejny powinien być brakujący PZL P.7a, na którym latał we wrześniu 1939 roku, jako instruktor ze szkoły lotniczej w Dęblinie.

Hurricane Mk. I w barwach 145 dywizjonu RAF, na którym odniósł pierwsze sukcesy na zachodzie.

Kolejny jest ponownie Hurricane Mk.I, lecz tym razem w barwach 303 dywizjonu RAF, tym razem już typowo polskiego :)

 Po przezbrojeniu na Spitifre Mk. II, Witold Urbanowicz nadal służył w 303 dywizjonie.

Po oddelegowaniu na daleki wschód, zdarzyło mu  się wykonać kilka lotów na P-40E, w malowaniu 75th FS USAAF.

Aces High - Adolf Galland

First ace! 

Like my colleague Marcin, I decided to gradually increase my collection of planes with planes in the paint scheme of specific fighter aces issued as additional cards in the game.

It is true that my first set in this regard concerns an ace, which I do not have in my collection, but maybe one day Warlord will decide to re-release it :)

As I wrote in the title, this ace is Adolf Galland.

Why him? Maybe because his name was the first one that caught my eye when I saw the list of aces? Or because he flew three completely different types of planes?

I still don't know, but anyway, the project was created.

Heinkel He 51

This ace's fighting career began during the Spanish Civil War, where, as a Condor Legion pilot, he flew Heinkel He 51 planes, which, as he himself put it, were not very good machines. 

 A characteristic feature of this aircraft is, among others: Mickey Mouse painted on the hull :)

Messerschmitt Bf-109E

Another plane that Adolf Galland is known for is the Messerschmitt Bf-109E, on which he flew during the offensive in the West and the Battle of Britain. He then served in the JG 26 regiment and, among others, he had several skirmishes with another famous British ace, Douglas Bader.

 

Messerschmitt Me 262

After fighting in the West, our ace began his staff career until March 1945, when he took command of the Jagdverband 44 unit equipped with the latest German jet-powered planes.

And so, in his career (not even 10 years old), our ace flew a biplane, a monoplane and a jet-powered plane.

Pierwszy as!

 Tak jak i kolega Marcin postanowiłem sukcesywnie zwiększać moją kolekcję samolotów o samoloty w malowania konkretnych asów myśliwskich wydanych jako dodatkowe karty w grze.

Co prawda mój pierwszy zrealizowany w tej kwestii zestaw dotyczy asa, którego nie posiadam w swojej kolekcji, ale może kiedyś Warlord postanowi wypuścić jego reedycję :)

Jak już napisałem w tytule asem tym jest Adolf Galland.

Dlaczego on? Może dlatego, że jego nazwisko jako pierwsze wpadło mi w oko gdy zobaczyłem listę asów? Albo dlatego, że latał na trzech zupełnie odmiennych typach samolotów?

W każdym razie projekt powstał.

Heinkel He 51

Kariera myśliwska tego asa rozpoczęła się w czasie wojny domowej w Hiszpanii, gdzie jako pilot Legionu Condor latał na samolotach Heinkel He 51, które, jak sam to określił, nie były zbyt dobrymi maszynami.

Cechą charakterystyczną tego samolotu jest m.in. wymalowana na kadłubie Myszka Miki :)

Messerschmitt Bf-109E

Kolejnym samolotem, z którego znany jest Adolf Galland to Messerschmitt Bf-109E, na którym latał w czasie ofensywy na zachodzie oraz bitwy o Anglię. Służył wtedy w pułku JG 26 i m.in. odbył kilka potyczek z innym znanym brytyjskim asem Douglasem Baderem.

 Po walkach na zachodzie nasz as rozpoczął karierę sztabową aż do marca 1945, kiedy to objął dowodzenie jednostką Jagdverband 44 wyposażoną w najnowsze niemieckie samoloty o napędzie odrzutowym.

I tak oto nasz as w swojej karierze (nie wynoszącej nawet 10 lat) latał na dwupłacie, jednopłacie i samolocie z napędem odrzutowym.
