Description
Similar to what was done in 4.9.8 for Gutenberg (see #41316), let's look into how a "Try AI" callout could work as part of a major upgrade/install flow would work.
Pulling specific bits from the WP 7.0 Product call with Matt:
Main concern
- Shipping the AI client alone risks a “cool but invisible” outcome if users don’t see where to configure it or what it enables.
- Request: make AI visible and discoverable for users upgrading to 7.0.
“What can users do after connecting?”
- Need at least one “wow” workflow after connecting a provider.
- Proposal: promote/rebrand “AI Experiments” into a canonical “AI” plugin (like Gutenberg: stable + experimental sections).

Various treatments for a custom banner on the Connectors screen. The idea is to align with whatever we do for the AI plugin.

We could add a callout for AI in the 7.0 About page. (Copy all TBD)
I think sorting out the flow from post-upgrade/install of WP 7.0 is necessary ahead of some of these other designs/decisions (because perhaps then we're not adding a banner/alert on the Connectors page). What is that flow from the About page to having AI configured and actually trying out an AI feature?
On the topic of the AI Experiments designs, I left some feedback in the Slack thread linked above here in Trac but summarizing my thoughts there as...
Ahead of WordPress 7.0, the AI Experiments plugin will likely be renamed to AI or WordPress AI and will include both Features and Experiments. I strongly support retaining the existing icon and banner design created by @karmatosed, particularly the science-inspired aesthetic and playful color palette. While the beaker leans more toward experiments than features, the overall tone feels approachable and aligned with the plugin’s intent. I am wary to support the “bits” or fragmented design direction, as it can unintentionally suggest that AI is breaking or destabilizing WordPress, which is not the message we want to convey. I’m open to thoughtful iterations, but would prefer to stay closer to the current science-forward visual direction rather than moving toward darker color schemes.

I like the idea of a custom banner. Although I like the idea of using the W symbol, it does feel like being "destroyed". We could try applying the style we're working on the highlight grid for the 7.0 so the visual connection is stronger.
This same visual could be used on both the microsite and the about page (#64536), making it even more evident in the feature release.

Here's an updated version of a new banner. I've reduced the chaos, and hopefully it comes across more like connected bits coming together.

@fcoveram I just commented on #64536 to see if there was any design updates on the About Page that perhaps we align to here?
A few options for new WordPress AI plugin imagery using a block particle visual element.
