MediaElement.js styles loading slowly

The video player's styles take about a second to load which causes the player to look slightly different for a portion of the first second. The ​http://mediaelementjs.com/ homepage is a good example. Hit F5 and watch the video player closely as the page is loading.

I have reported this over at the MediaElement project on GitHub but I wanted to bring this issue to the attention of WP as I know the video player is included in core since v3.6

Update: I think the problem seems to be the browser rendering the video element before the MediaElement styles have loaded. Anyone had the chance to test? Be interested to hear your thoughts on this...
