Queen's University at Kingston, Animals in Philosophy, Politics, Law, and Ethics, Affiliated Scholar
I completed my Ph.D. in Philosophy under the supervision of Will Kymlicka at Queen's University. My doctoral thesis "Norms, Reasons, and Moral Progress" explored how identity reasoning, under appropriate conditions, facilitates rather than obstructs moral progress. During 2020-21, I'm a postdoctoral fellow at the Social Justice Centre of Concordia University. Under the supervision of Pablo Gilabert, I work on the research project “Rethinking Democracy in the Populist Age,” extending my theory of We-reasoning to understand the relationship between identity politics and populism. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Law from the University of Hong Kong and a Master's degree in Political Theory from the London School of Economics. My research interests centre on the ethics, rationality, and politics of group life. I have a side interest in animal advocacy.
