“At the beginning of this pandemic I told myself “this is my time” I knew things would get tough but I also knew this was my opportunity to get to where I personally needed to be for myself and the team. Everything else is exactly that, “noise around me”. I knew I needed to be smart about my every move, resilient and focused on the process. Thanks for all your help as you have helped guide us through so far. I look forward to building even more capacity!”

“After committing to the mental side, I saw a huge difference on and off the course. When I was younger I didn’t think it would help me much but mental performance separates’ good from great. Working with you has shown me there is way more to sport than being fast and strong.”

“The execution of that entire match was a perfect as it could have been. I was in the present on every shot. When it wasn’t there I was able to pause, reset and get back to the present. I felt I couldn’t miss…it was awesome. Thank you for your help in this process. These last few months have been a blast.”

“I’ve really enjoyed working with you and our work has definitely paid off! I’ve also grown a tremendous amount as a person, and player second, while working with you and I’m very grateful for that.
Kyle, thank you for everything you’ve done for me over the years, I’ve grown tremendously and I wouldn’t be where I am today without you.”

“The boys remind each other all the time about the mental stuff.  Those two boys have bought in… and they know it.  They don’t see the evidence yet but they believe it… when they doubt they support each other.  This has been such a long journey with you but the unfolding is happening.  They are being super tested right now about their old way of thinking and the new way… and I see them refusing to believe in the negative.  I remember the first day we talked you told me it’s a slow process and hard to see quick results.  But it’s happening.  And these are the kind of results that actually last.”

Krista Bulych Parent

“Connecting and reshaping my perspective through a season proves beneficial for me and my mindset. Our communication provides a reset and allows me to reframe my process. I also see an outcome of a point/game on these resets but that’s because of the attention we bring to my process.”

It’s back!!! The annual #mentalskills advent calendar is here. Take some time to dig into your process this holiday season. The more awareness we create in our #bestversion the more available it will be for us in stress. Prepare that emotional system.

Thank you @dcozz19 and @noah.chadwick8 for taking the time last night to discuss your journey and application of #performancepsychology to your development path. A lot of thoughts on process but a few of my favorites on creating mentality include:

-a competitor turns their 5 to a 6

-visualization is key for my preparation, to manage emotions I need to see myself and my best version as much as I can

-the process of acknowledging aspects that hold me back did not happen overnight, you learn to manage those setbacks by putting the tools in place

-stress is never going anywhere, managing it is the art of being a human

-my cues eliminate the extra need for thought; I built my identity and I know my strengths that allow me to keep my job

-journaling changes the way I think, the more I write about it the better version of myself I create.

Great athlete #preparation session last night. Discussion around the art of developing mentality to be your #bestversion #mentalperformance #athletedevelopment

Great start last night to our Athlete Prep Sessions. Our first conversation revolved around #emotionalintelligence and #mindset. It’s important to prepare and invest into our best versions via reflecting on our inner experiences. Great group to work with. #digdeep Athlete Prep Session #1 Summary
Mental Performance Philosophy: Here we discussed my beliefs, values, principles, and strategies that guide an individual’s approach to optimizing mental abilities, such as focus, resilience, and problem-solving skills.
Emotional Intelligence and Importance to Mindset (Self-Awareness and Self-Control): Here we discussed how Emotional intelligence (EI) involves the ability to recognize, understand, and manage one’s own emotions. It is crucial to mindset because it contributes to self-awareness (understanding one’s emotions, strengths, weaknesses) and self-control (managing impulses, emotions, and reactions).
Emotional Intelligence Case Studies: Here we reviewed Bob (20 Yr Old Male Athlete) and Danielle (17 Yr Old Female Athlete). The concept of reviewing these athletes revolved around guiding constructive conversations for their development. This was an example of applying EI theory to development. These are real-life examples or scenarios that illustrate how emotional intelligence can impact various aspects of personal and professional life, such as leadership, teamwork, and decision-making.
Self-Awareness and Self-Control Structure Activity: We briefly discussed this activity and I would encourage you to complete the last two pages for reflection. The activity aims to promote personal growth and improved emotional management.
Preparation Session: We will start here on the 22nd. I will run through a preparation session taking into consideration our reflections etc.
