I’ve been working in AI since the 1980’s when I was in Accenture’s AI group. Most of my experience has been in symbolic AI: rules, ontologies, knowledge graphs, linked data, etc. However, I’ve been using LLMs for a while now and also getting to know other ML techniques. Most of my career was as a consultant for Accenture and then later at Deloitte where I was a partner and ran a solution center in San Francisco. But I’ve also done a fair amount of R&D. Accenture had a true research group for a brief period called the Center for Strategic Technology Research where I was PI on several research projects funded by the DoD and I also did research at the Information Sciences Institute. I’m officially retired now but as busy as ever, both doing my own research as well as consulting. The Blog on my homepage (bottom of profile) shows the kind of work I’ve been doing lately.
