I’m using platform.openai.com and have been assigned Tier 3, on which the o3-mini model is available (as stated here https://platform.openai.com/docs/guides/rate-limits?tier=tier-three#usage-tiers).
But when using the API with the o3-mini model specified, I receive the response “The model o3-mini does not exist or you do not have access to it.” Why is this happening and what am I doing wrong?
You have made an assumption that you are automatically granted access to o3-mini upon reaching a tier 3+.
However, this model is still being manually deployed to organizations, and with a new account and new qualification, you’ll have to wait for the next roll-out round that might include you.
It turns out this is a scam. Why isn’t it mentioned on the link I provided above? Why doesn’t OpenAI immediately warn that o3-mini is actually not available on Tier 3? Why should I have to search for this information buried in https://help.openai.com? I specifically spent money to upgrade my account to Tier 3 and get access to o3-mini, but in the end, I just wasted my money.
Please message back to say you have been told to request o3-mini access and that they should find that is now available. You will need to give them your Org-ID and a member of OpenAI staff will pick up those requests.
As a fellow user, I cannot affect scam-like descriptions that appeal for prepayment without delivering a product.
Who can affect your account?
In your platform account, you can press “help” and send a message. Such as “action required: deploy the model o3-mini to my tier-3 organization, as is described as available in the tier limit guidelines currently given.”
I gain access to o3-mini in API few days after upgrading to Tier-3 i dunno wich unlock that but just after upgrading to T3 I remember I didn’t had access to o3 (just used o1 instead)
