Regardless of size and number I am always receiving this error when saving a GPT which contains a valid JSON file.
In the browser console:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 ()

I found a workaround to this issue, hopefully it continues to work!
Basically, I noticed an undo option when I hover over the āunpublished changesāā¦ I copied my instructions and clicked undo, I then added back my updated instructions and was able to publish.
Thank you! It worked for me as well!
Thank you, this worked for me as well. The revert button brings it back to prior state, then you can paste/update configuration and saved!
there should be a bug around it, at least in my case

I have the same issue, orange error, āError Savingā, Feb 7th 24
Having same issue. reverting to previous state helped me once but not with second update.
with good intentions, @logankilpatrick I continue having this error itās closed here Error saving draft when building a new GPT - GPT builders / Plugins / Actions builders - OpenAI Developer Forum, this is my error screen sadly
Now I will proceed with feedback to make work easier and solve this asap:
I can edit some, but when I edit 4, or 5, it shows me this error, the thing is that there is an auto save which sometimes is a bit annoying cause itās making on time changes, would be great to have a small delay, or adjust this on dev mode.
Good luck, and by the way, amazing work! We all love OpenAI platform! My supports

I also encountered this issue and solve it using following steps:
hope this helps
can you explain what you meant by āsplitting your fileā?
Seems the problem has still not been solved after so many months
In my GPT I get āError saving draftā when updating any single piece of configuration.
Same here, its been like this for me all year, and I still havenāt solved the issue
Same issue here with trying to update a CustomGPT. Sometimes it works after waiting an hour or so. Maybe their servers are extra busy? Iām also wondering why the GPT App for MacOS takes you to the browser version when creating or editing a CustomGPT.
I could only solve it by duplicating MyGPT. I tried everything, thatās the only thing that worked.
Hey all,
It sounds like we are having similar issues. I am getting errors when i try to upload a custom logo to a new GPT I am creating. I have tried all the work arounds to no avail. Any ideas?
yes, I am tring everthing, only could go back , but whwne save new one, its again show the message
Yes, workable methods. Thanks Andy.
I have a question about the GPTs in which the error appeared, had they been shared before with more users or are they for personal use?
Yes, the error started after I shared the GPT. I made a copy and same issue once I invited uesrs.
Was a LaTeX document for me.
Some reason itās not even bothering to read it properly.
Converting to Fortan style encoding may be a workaround.
Gonna give it a shot if I can be arsed to back-translate all the elegance.
Preview o1 sucks balls.
It crashes every time.
