Couture dress |
[11 May 2005|11:04am] |
We recently completed this dress. It will be auctioned off in an upcoming fundraiser that we are a part of. (more info on our LJ, it’s only interesting if you’re in Calgary)
Photographer: Koz Photography Model: Maureen Dress: It’s a lilac crepe, fully lined, with an asymmetrical contrast neckline with purple rayon channel stitching (not really visible in the picture… I’m hoping to get more pictures from this shoot soon… but I haven’t even seen the contact sheet yet!) The one for auction is about an European size 8.

I made my first non-scarf knit project! It's a simple mini tote, with buttons hidden on the inside, so I can interchange handles (a short one and a shoulder strap). I'm so happy with the results, I want to try making another purse, and felting it.

DICIB Ready-to-wear cont... |
[28 Apr 2005|02:41pm] |
Here are more of the items from DICIB’s Spring/Summer 2005 line, featured at this years Calgary Cares

This is the Spectre Multi Dress – cut so that the skirt part hugs the hips, and the top just drapes over, it also has extra-long sleeves which gather on the lower arm. The dress also has holes along the arms and front and back. These holes mean you can pass your head through one of the holes other than the standard neckline. You can also weave your arm in and out of the holes in the sleeve. It’s very couture, very versatile, and very daring. ( more under the cutCollapse )

DICIB Spring/Summer 2005 line cont... |
[26 Apr 2005|11:51am] |
We couldn’t show this before, but at the beginning of March DICIB created this top and sweater-jacket for a regular customer. The t-shirt is DICIB’s take on the “perfect T” – feminine and fitted, with just enough stretch to remain comfortable. The sweater-jacket is from DICIB’s Spring/Summer 2005 line. There’s benefits to being a regular DICIB customer – you get the good stuff FIRST. ( more good stuff under the cutCollapse )

Spring/Summer 2005 line |
[25 Apr 2005|11:23am] |
DICIB presented the debut of our spring/summer 2005 line last Saturday night at Calgary Cares – which was a FANTASTIC event… There were a number of amazing, beautiful dance sets, plus a pair of awe-inspiring acrobats and of course the highlight of the night (for us at least!) was the fashion show featuring DICIB’s Spring/Summer 2005 line and show singer Zoe.
We’re still waiting to get photos back from the event itself, but here’s some that were taken in-studio, showing off all the new garments by DICIB….

1) My name is Dawn, I work for DICIB – Does it Come in Black? 2) I’m 27.. the company as it stands has been in business for a little over 5 years, and the designer, Shae Barry has been sewing and designing for over 20 years. 3) The company does couture clothing, as well as ready-to-wear. Key highlights in couture is softly tailored suits, bathing suits, and evening wear, as well as garments for crossdressers. In ready-to-wear, the best thing we do is punk/goth/rockabilly/fetish inspired clothing, with a key highlight of well fitted t-shirts and jeans. 4) Pictures ( under the cutCollapse )
