Constant nonsensical crashes (program immediately closing half the time as soon as you use the brush or move a picture an inch,) constant freezes when you at times wanna close the program, still barebones in its features (only saving grace is being able to adjust selections once you make them.) "Replacement for Paint.NET" brother, you're not even above MS Paint. What a disgrace, brb installing GIMP with the plugin that gives it the Photoshop UI.

I previously ditched this program stating that KolourPaint was better. As I changed my distribution, this program came refreshed, and I don't observe some bugs that I did before. Replacing KolourPaint with this for now! It serves my purposes well!

I'm sorry to give such a poor score but I can only speak to my user experience on the current version which was terrible. I needed very basic functionality. I consulted the user guide linked from within the program, which is apparently only valid for the Windows version, and was only further frustrated.

Used to be an excellent tool for basic image manipulation but the most recent version seems to have suffered from some usability / UI regressions. It's primary audience is Windows users, so presumably the authors have followed Microsoft over the cliff and gone along with the current UI guidelines. Sad really.

An excellent tool for those used to using MS Paint or Paint.net for quick image edits and markup. It launches within a second or two on modern systems, and has many useful features.

I'm using LMDE6 and this editor works just like how I used Paint.NET back in Windows 10. Definitely my go to choice to get the job done really fast.

Pinta 1.7 (flatpack) works stable on my Linux Mint 20.2 Cinnamon.

So far this appears to be the best feature for feature drop in replacement for Paint.net (which I love). The new 1.7 update seems promising as a lot of people were complaining about bugs and issues before. I observed no issues in this version. I just hope the Mint repository gets updated soon as the Flatpak of this app is a whopping 2.4 GB! The one thing I noticed is the app doesn't warn you when saving in a certain format will result in the image being flattened (it still flattens it but doesn't warn you). Not a huge deal as most people should be aware that this will happen but would be a nice touch.
