How do we share research in the form of a story that\u2019s interesting for the general public? Caf\u00e9babel’s journalistic series, “Common Grounds”, published in French, English and Italian, weaves together anecdotes on participatory research projects enabled through the COESO project to tell the story of how academic and societal actors can collaborate to change the world, one small corner at a time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Article #1:<\/span> Citizen Science and Sensitive Subjects: The Case of Mass Tourism<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n

The journey begins in Lisbon, where researchers and organizations are collaborating on a project that epitomizes the intersection of citizen science and sensitive societal issues. This project focuses on the impact of mass tourism in Lisbon, exploring how it affects the city’s social fabric, infrastructure, and the daily lives of residents. It serves as a prime example of how citizen science bridges the gap between scientific inquiry and societal needs, offering insights into the complex interplay of local communities and the burgeoning tourism industry.<\/span><\/p>\n
