But in case we use classes or structs, we want to override their <code>ToString()<\/code> method:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\" data-enlighter-language=\"csharp\">public class MyClass\r\n{\r\n    public var MyNumber { get; set; }\r\n\r\n    public MyClass(int num)\r\n    {\r\n        MyNumber = num;\r\n    }\r\n\r\n    public override string ToString()\r\n    {\r\n        return MyNumber.ToString();\r\n    }\r\n}<\/pre>\n<p>Now, we can use this class to get the output we want:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\" data-enlighter-language=\"csharp\">var number = new MyClass(3); \r\nvar numberText1 = \"My number is \" + number; \r\nvar numberText2 = \"My number is \" + number.ToString();<\/pre>\n<p>It&#8217;s not necessary to call\u00a0<code>ToString()<\/code> directly as it&#8217;s being done internally.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"UsingStringFormat\"><\/a>Using string.Format()<\/h2>\n<p>Another way to include variables in a string is to use the\u00a0<code>string.Format()<\/code> method:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\" data-enlighter-language=\"csharp\">var apples = 10;\r\nvar bananas = 6;\r\nstring.Format(\"I have {0} apples, {1} bananas and {2} pears\", apples, bananas, 3);<\/pre>\n<p>We replace the <code>{x}<\/code> placeholders with the other arguments in the function in the order they come in, with <code>{0}<\/code> being the first argument,\u00a0<code>{1}<\/code> the second argument, and so on.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, this allows to re-use the same arguments or to mix them in different positions:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\" data-enlighter-language=\"csharp\">var apples = 10;\r\nvar pears = 6;\r\nstring.Format(\"I have {0} apples, {2} bananas and {1} pears. Did I mention I have {2} bananas?\", apples, pears, 3);<\/pre>\n<h2><a id=\"UsingStringInterpolation\"><\/a>Using String Interpolation<\/h2>\n<p>Starting with version 6, C# allows string interpolation, which conveys a more &#8220;natural&#8221; flow to the syntax:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\" data-enlighter-language=\"csharp\">var myApples = 2;\r\nvar myPears = 5;\r\nvar myBananas = 10;\r\nstring myString = $\"I have {myApples} apples, {myPears} pears and {(myApples &gt; 2 ? myBananas : myBananas + 5)} bananas\";<\/pre>\n<p>Prefixing a string literal with\u00a0<code>$<\/code> allows us to interpret any content inside a pair of curly brackets as language expressions. They get evaluated and the result is converted to a string automatically.<\/p>\n<p>If we want to use curly brackets in our text, we need to escape them with another matching bracket:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\" data-enlighter-language=\"csharp\">var word = \"too\";\r\n$\"{{I am just a regular string}}!
