Robinson Hall for the Performing Arts
Robinson Hall is a state-of-the-art center for the performing arts, containing 118,000 square feet of classrooms, offices and rehearsal and performance space. When the hall opened in 2004, the facilities greatly expanded and enlivened the educational program at UNC Charlotte by providing excellent places for students and faculty to study, rehearse and perform for audiences.
Anne R. Belk Theater
Robinson Hall houses the 336-seat Anne R. Belk Theater, which features a 3,500-square-foot proscenium stage equipped with a 60-foot-fly-loft for storing and changing scenery and an orchestra pit for opera and musical theatre performances. The theater is primarily used for performances by our performing arts units, including Department of Dance concerts, Department of Music ensemble concerts, and select Department of Theatre productions.
Rowe Recital Hall
Rowe Recital Hall is located in the Rowe Arts building and has a maximum audience capacity of 370. It is the home of the Department of Music’s Faculty & Friends Concert Series and select student performances, including the Opera Workshop and Musical Theatre Workshop.
Choir Room (Robinson 145)
Additionally, our 150-capacity Choir Room (Robinson 145) is ideal for choral rehearsals and sectional practices, vocal masterclasses and workshops, small instrumental performances or recital prep. The room features high ceilings and acoustic wall treatments, including automated curtains, for balanced sound and reduced echo.
