For various reasons I've been staying up later than usual. And thus sleeping in later than usual. This isn't fatal -- the only class I have first period ended a week early by order of a prof who was as sick of it as we were (though it's ostentatiously to let us get to work on our final papers). Still, it means I'm missing all you fine people online! [/flattery]
I asked around on the subject of Painful Sitting Positions, and discovered two things: a) practice makes perfect (or at least more flexible feet), and the monks had of course been getting used to that posture for years, and b) some Westerners simply don't have the leg shape for it (thighs too large in comparison to calves) for genetic reasons. So I was probably screwed on both counts.
