I will break a bit from tradition and post this instead of a song today. My UConn fandom compels me to bookmark this momentous occasion. I have already watched this innumerous times.
Funny story about 50-Across (not really a spoiler, I think). In researching the clue for it, I found another school called Daemen University that also had that nickname, and I started to get a little concerned when I looked on a map. So I actually looked up the latitudes for these respective schools. Daemen University is actually 0.1° latitude south of the school in the answer. Hah! The clue still prevailed. Buuut then I discovered Central Washington University. Alas, no… 4° more northerly. So I had to modify it to “Division I” instead. I go the extra mile for you, my friends.
Also, I know there’ve been a few nonsquare grids lately. In fact, you’re going to see another one (16×15) for the next one. Why? Simple… a few more nice seed answers longer than 15 letters have been popping into my head lately. Who am I to waste those just because they may be a wee bit too long?
