So, I went to that one place with Kim. I feel like if I say anything right now I'll end up sounding like a bad sex ed video. Instead I'll talk about waiting rooms because that's less likely to lead me into an awkward conversation. It's amazing how no matter where you go the waiting rooms are almost always the same. Same receptionist that hates her job, there's the same crappy magazine issues that you don't want to touch because you don't know who had it before you, same off-white walls, same ugly flower picture on the wall, and the TV is pretty much always on CNN. There's always so much anxiety in there too.
But seriously you guys, safe sex is important. Just...throwing that out there.
Anyways, now that I've finished, I'll just let you know that everything is alright so that's all that matters. Got some weird glances from people but I think that's just kind of what happens in there.
And school is ending soon. Not sure what I'm going to do during the summer. Abe's probably going to be busy with Cleo. I've never not drank coffee, but I'm back to several cups a day. That's really bad when you have to go buy it from a coffee shop. Because that stuff gets expensive.
Oh! I went to see the 2009 Academy Award nominated shorts. Sometimes I go to watch those because they've got some interesting art or filming techniques and since they aren't trying to get high box-office ratings it seems like they don't throw un-necessary crap in for approval. The film reel was shorter than last year. By about an hour. The animated shorts weren't nearly as good either. A lot of CGI this year. There were a few good ones. Japan had an interesting film, it almost looked more like a kids story book and involved an old man building layers onto his house and as he went back through each layer, he had different memories of events that occurred. Pretty simple but it was well done.
The live-action shorts were a lot better and more intense. Only one of them was a comedy. It's hard to really say what happens without giving away the plots and it's hard to say who the Academy will choose, I can't even choose. But I think they'll give it to On The Line. Or The Pig. Which surprised me. I wasn't expecting much out of a short about a guy in a hospital who develops a fondness for a pig painting. Just goes to show you that there's still some creativity out there. Unless there's already a movie about that and I didn't see it.
The funniest part though was probably the fact that they had quotes in between the shorts and one of them was from Tony Scott the director of Top Gun. Sure he's had a few art films. But he's also made more mindless action movies than most directors in Hollywood. Not the kind of guy you'd quote to most of the people who go to those sort of festivals. I heard a few people laughing other than myself, so they got the joke too.

This whole thing is surreal. Well, in a different way. I guess just because I'm one of those people that distances myself. If I finally break down and tell somebody something, I expect it to be meaningful. Whether it's something they can use to help them out in their own life or just something they should know. I generally only share my deepest secrets with people that I've known for a really long time. Or just people I've learned to trust. I guess I feel like it'll protect me in the long run even though I know that's probably not true. I guess this is a kind of self-realization for me. So, maybe that's what I've gotten out of this all. And wow that got personal.
It's definitely a really crappy way to start off the new year though. I can't necessarily say things will get better because it's been proven that if you say that, they don't. But, something comes out of everything?
On that note, if anybody needs help. Consultation or anything. Let me know. I read a lot of self-help books, I'll try to do my best to help.

Thanksgiving went considerably well. Or at least it didn't end in homicide. Threats were made, yeah. You know, basic threats. Involving hot gravy and sharp utensils. But nobody was killed. I thought it would get easier if we just tried. And by "tried," I mean "tolerated."
Which is a funny word if you really think about it. Tolerating usually means something annoys the crap out of you but you're putting up with it. But it just doesn't work.Not for me anyways. Really, I'm working on my patience. That's one of the few flaws I'm willing to acknowledge. But you know what, you guys? This is hard. And stupid. Living in the same house doesn't help either, because there's no way to avoid her. And plus if I do anything, I'm screwed. Because lawsuits will occur.

I think they finally banned the game Marco Polo in the school pool. I'm honestly surprised that this didn't happen sooner. He finally complained about it anyways, they might have ignored him. If I were him I'd be pretty pissed that people were shouting my name for no apparent reason too.
Really don't even know why we still have the pool here. It just causes problems. All of the crap goes down there. Every fight, every prank. And it gets destroyed constantly in the riots. And then there was the whole "Clone High Tea Party" thing. Tea can stain tile pretty well if there's enough of it.

I didn't have the chance to post this right after the Olympics, so I'm doing it now. It's under a cut, so you don't need to read it.
Yeah the 2008 Summer Olympics are finally over. Well, they've been over for a while now. I actually did decide to watch some of them because I do like sports, plus I couldn't watch the late night talk shows anyways. Despite all of the people protesting about us holding them in China and how cruelly they treat their citizens. To which I have to say, we've already screwed ourselves over. If you want to protest the poor treatment of people then don't buy their products. Everything we buy is made in China and we're just giving money to them so they can keep running those atrocious sweat-shops. And I'm just as guilty of buying stuff as anybody else. We can't escape it. If you want cheaper merchandise, then that's the only way you're going to get it. So it's kind of a double-edged sword like most things in life.
That being said, the events I watched were pretty good. Although it seemed like swimming, diving, gymnastics, and volleyball were the only things ever on. Sometimes track and field. Basketball was on at the weirdest times. And now that it's over, the athletes get to sell out to corporate America. That's the only<\/em> thing I hate about professional sports. I wish it was just about the game and not necessarily about product placement.<\/a>
So, the movie was entertaining I guess. It was a good action movie. Not the best movie ever like a lot of people are trying to say. But since a lot of the movies I like end up being limited release anyways, I don't think my opinion really reflects everybody else's.
Aside from that, it's still pretty quiet at school. Or I've just gotten really good at tuning things out. I'm sure it'll pick up though. Unfortunately.
I hope everything is going well for everyone else. Even though reading everyone's entries, I can pretty much answer this by myself.

Like I couldn't have figured that one out on my own. Not much going on, which is why I'm taking personality quizzes. The NBA Finals are over, and surprisingly Boston ended up winning, so there's not even that. WNBA is on but Phoenix will probably just win again anyways.
Pretty sure something will be going on for the 4th of July though. I mean, somebody here has to be doing something. Because listening to loud fireworks and people hurling in toilets is really a fun way to spend your weekend.

Cleo called the Teen Help Hotline again the other day, and because I'm an idiot and I felt genuinely bad about how horrible Abe's been feeling and I promised I would give good advice, I told her that she probably did overreact to what happened at the car wash and that Abe had nothing to do with it at all. I'm not really sure what's going to come out of it, I'm pretty sure it won't work out in my advantage though. But I don't want anybody to mention it to him.
