Hereditary Cardiovascular Disease Gene Curation Expert Panel
MembershipThe Hereditary Cardiovascular Disease GCEP will function as a GCEP for genes asserted to be involved in cardiovascular diseases that are not currently being curated by any other GCEPs, including the existing cardiovascular disease GCEPs. Additionally, the Hereditary CVD GCEP will take on gene recuration of genes for dormant GCEPs in the CVD CDWG that do not otherwise have an intention to establish a recuration effort. The experts in the Hereditary CVD GCEP have an extensive knowledge of a range of cardiovascular disease, however, the experts will consult experts outside the group or invite additional experts to join the group should the need arise.
This group will:
- Curate and review genes for CVD that do not currently come under the purview of another GCEP but for which there is a need for the curation to be completed and reviewed. Additionally, the HCVD GCEP will curate new genes that have more recently become important, such as FHOD3 for HCM.
- Complete the recuration of genes for dormant GCEPS in the CVD CDWG. The HCVD GCEP will start with recuration of HCM, Brugada, and HTAAD.
