Danner started guiding these rivers because he couldn't imagine doing anything else. Our small team of guides feels the same way. Our shop crew keeps you outfitted with what works, and Huck, our shop dog, handles hospitality. We're on the water every day we can be—the Clark Fork, Blackfoot, Bitterroot, Missouri, and St. Regis. Our shop carries what actually works. No attitude, no pretense. Just people who genuinely love this and want to share it.

Guided Fly Fishing Trips

Our guides are on the water daily, fishing the Clark Fork, Blackfoot, and Bitterroot year-round. We also run trips on the St. Regis when it's fishable and the Missouri River during May—both incredible opportunities for a limited window. We handpick our team for their skills and their attitudes—they're genuinely good people who love to fish and love to teach. We believe they're among the best guides in the West. All gear provided, all experience levels welcome.

The Fly Shop

Our shop is small but stocked with only the best gear. We carry what we actually use and trust—quality rods, reels, waders, and an extensive fly selection that reflects what's working right now. Our team is here to help you get set up right, whether you're outfitting your first trip or restocking your box. And Huck will make sure you feel welcome the moment you walk in.

After a day of camping in the rain and struggling to fish this big river I decided to try taking a trip last minute. Reached out via email late night and received a call from Danner (owner) as soon as he got in the next morning. You’re not going to find a better guide than Danner at Clark Fork Trout. I’ve fished with him a handful of times and every time has been extremely enjoyable.
