The CLARIN Knowledge Centre for Applied Comparative Discourse Analysis (CLARIN-APPLIED) offers expertise in applied discourse analysis, especially with multilingual corpora and corpora suitable for comparative analysis.

We develop and offer:

1. best practices in applied comparative discourse analysis;
2. curated lists of publications, tools and resources relevant for comparative discourse analysis;
3. Swiss-AL Platform; a language data platform for applied sciences designed to support the analysis of Swiss public communication.

CLARIN-APPLIED is currently working on four projects aimed at improving comparative discourse analysis:

• Agency of young people in peripheral areas – educational practices between regionality and family (AYPPA), 2026-2029, funded by DFG and SNSF (WEAVE), with U Magdeburg, U Münster, OTH Regensburg, ZHAW

• Making Open Research Data Suitable for Comparative Discourse Analysis (MORCDA), 2025-2026, funded by OSCARS, with Waldemar Czachur (U Warsaw), Goranka Rocco (U Ferrara), Stephanie Evert (U Erlangen-Nuremberg), Cristina Grisot (CLARIN-CH), ZHAW

• Strengthening ORD competences in the Applied Sciences: Open Educational Resources for Swiss-AL, 2024, funded by swissuniversities and ZHAW

• Swiss-AL: Linguistic Open-Research-Data Practices for Applied Sciences, 2023-2025, funded by swissuniversities and ZHAW
