Revelation

If everyone you know tells you that you are a certain type of person, does that mean you're that  kind of person or do they not really know you? If they are right, then I guess I'm a mean spirited, selfish person. I hope they're not right, because if they are, why are they still friends with me?
This is not a happy New Year for me.
