More thundering hooves

Another sneak peek on incoming Aurelian Knights set im working on and hopefully finish.

Zenithal primed test prints that include variable helmet crests and plumes. This is my most diverse, complex and variable set up to date with a variety of weapons, heads, shields. This is probably why it takes me so long to finish 🙂

Saddle the horses.

Just a little sneak peek of a new set I am working on far too long :P. This time a modular set of human knights. I wanted to make far too many customisable options and now I am in process of cutting it down to more manageable size, as well as some cleanup and test prints.

Weather following footsteps noble palladins of the legendary Ambrose the Bear, quarrelsome petty lords of rivermarches, pious knight-brothers of aurelian orders, ambitious robber barons of Vatluna or retinues of allied Viljan dukes or warlords, human knights with their magnificent Ironlander panoply and unwavering aurelian faith, form the fearsome spearhead and iron fist of Goblin Imperial armies.

P.S.Sorry for the photo quality, but these are just assembly test prints, and unpainted resin makes them a little bit transparent and hides the details somewhat. Better photos coming soon.

Bolts ready! Loose!

Crossbowmen are some of the most versatile misile troops, and second most numerous part of armies of aurelian kingdoms. Indispensible as missile support for advancing infantry, in a siege both on and under the ramparts, or to clear the battlefield from those pesky light foot skirmishers, human crosbows proved themselves many times.

While not as agile as light infantry and not particularly usefull in pursuit, ther large pavise shields, and honed marksmanship, makes them a painful thorn in side of dwarven slingers, orc archers or in fact any other missile troops on the battlefield, while robust armour and cold arms proficiency, makes them more resilient to light troop sudden attacks.

The events of great peasant wars, and succeses of Ianpragite rebels, proved that disciplined and motivated infantry can stand their ground to charging masses of knights or arrowstorms of orc raiders. After the peace came, many warbands of seasoned warriors refused to go back to plough or loom, and decided to look for their fortune as professional soldiers or mercenaries, forming sometimes quite numerous armies for hire. Now you cover the advance of halberdiers, or goblin guard with pavise shielded crossbowmen. Below you can see test prints bearing colours of the infamous Blue Banner Company.

A new stl set of these professional warriors avialable on Wargamevault, is ready to protect flanks of your battleline, or wear off enemy formations in advance of decisive the crushing assault of footmen or knights.

Timeline of the Glorious Empire.

“There when Roman prayed, Great Goblin king Gutbod came upon him with his host from Shaggy Mountains. There advised by Mudwit the Jester he listened to abbots prayer. Seeing that, Roman addressed the king. “Our Lord Creator sent me to you to tell unto thee – follow his faith, and believe his word and thou shall conquer!”

From “Sancti Romani Abbatis Vita Brevis” by Goodfries de Fullmouthe

To get a little background on the history of the Empire where Chronica Goblinorum stories take place and miniatures roam, (and to confuse things a little bit more :P) Please find under following link a brief timeline of the Glorious Goblin Empire, compiled by Scribe Paprokh for the students of trivium in Redwall. This is but a draft of of a part of the greater history, to provide a wider context for the stories ad miniatures

From lordly kennels to the battlefield.

Goblin wolfmare knights are on the prowl, hunting for the enemies of the Empire both form the outside and from within.

Or rather looking for a brawl hoping to improve their standing, by stretching, reinterpreting or disregarding intricacies of Imperial laws. For centuries favourite mount for the goblin lords was the fearsome wolfmare. Carnivorous beast with size of a medium horse, vicious temper and cunning intellect matching this of their masters. By some wolfmares are considered the greatest achievement of beastmaster collegiae, with significance for the Empire approached maybe only by utility hogs. These fearsome mounts. The beasts and the preference for combined, hybrid polearms such as hammer and macespears, capable of both piercing and crushing became a halmark of Goblin nobility.

Now a modular stl set of these fearsome riders avialable on Wargamevault, will allow fielding your own retinue of Goblin Knights to prove your superiority on any battlefield.

From wolfen dens to the goblin courts.

A little sneak peek of incoming next set of goblin stl minis I am working on right now. This time test prints of fearsome goblin wolfmare knights. Still need some polishing before release.

Vicious wolfmares, lighter but more nimble and aggressive than warhorses are the preferred mounts for goblin nobility. Their breeding is one of many closely guarded secrets and a source of great wealth of the beastmaster collegiae.

Of Sir Of Sir Swanlake at the Mournful Guard – Part 4 and Epilogue

And here comes the final chapter of Archibald’s adventure at the castle of Mournful Guard, together with concluding epilogue.

A paragraph was also added to part 3. Below links to all chapters of the story the story.

Of Sir Swanlake at the Mournful Guard:

Part 1 – In which a knight errant arrives at village of Frog Meadow and learns a thing or two about his destination.

Part 2 – In which a Archibald of Swanlake recounts the events of his youth as well as what he knows about the Damp Causeway and the castle of Mournful Guard.

Part 3 – In which we learn of advantages of a duel for both parties involved and then lances are shattered, among other things.

Part 4 – In which the knight meets his damsel, and the scholar unravels his risky intrigue.

Epilogue – In which some stories end, some continue and some are yet to begin.

Woodland scoundrels are ready to lay ambush on tabletop.

Here it is. A new set of stl minis is out on Wargame Vault.

Despite many opportunities not everyone feels at their place in within the society of the Empire. All kinds of renegades, outlaws, runaway serfs, heretics or vagabonds find refuge in dense forests and woods across the Empire, forming sometimes quite numerous bands. Foraging, poaching and robing merchant caravans or noble carriages they trade their stolen goods with peripheral villages or towns, for anything they lack in their hideouts. Paying handsomely for protection or cooperation of the simple folk, leaders of such bands become sometimes figures of folklore fables about the noble rogues stealing the rich and giving to the poor. With reality being often much more prosaic.

With this set 5 different miniatures of such goblin woodsmen are ready to be printed (designed for 28-32mm scale range). Armed for ambush with with hunting bows (and crossbow) as well as ropes, caltrops and forestry tools to prepare nasty traps that would discourage any pursuit. Below you can view painted prints of one such company.

Something’s stirring in the woods.

Today a little sneak peak of upcoming goblin woodsmen set.

Goblin outcasts and brigands, hiding in the woods form the justice (or injustice) of the Goblin Empire.

I still do some minor technical tweaking with these, but they are quite close to getting published. I hope you will like them.
