  • We are delighted to welcome you to CHIWORK’26, the 5th Symposium on Human-Computer Interaction for Work, taking place June 22–25, 2026, at the iconic Ars Electronica Center in Linz, Austria, and jointly hosted by IT:U and JKU Linz.

    About the Conference

CHIWORK invites researchers, designers, practitioners, and policymakers to explore how human-computer interaction shapes the evolving landscape of labor and collaboration. Under the theme Flow – Fun – Friction, CHIWORK’26 examines how individuals, groups, and organizations adapt, thrive, and flourish as emerging technologies both empower and challenge them. The conference fosters interdisciplinary exchange and innovation toward sustainable, inclusive, and fulfilling futures of work (see our call for papers).

    About the City of Linz

Located in the very heart of Europe on the banks of the Danube River, Linz is a city where industry, technology, and art meet. It is both a renowned center of steel production and a UNESCO City of Media Arts, reflecting a unique synthesis of industrial excellence and cultural-technological creativity. The Ars Electronica Center, Linz’s museum of the future that makes topics such as AI, robotics, and VR tangible through interactive exhibits, offers a fitting and inspiring setting for CHIWORK’26.
