Overview

Antarang Foundation works to ensure that every young person is passionately, productively and positively engaged in a career of their choice, through two career focused programs, CareerAware and CareeReady. The programs deliver career guidance, develop core employability skills, and link students with career opportunities. Prior to conducting this program, the Antarang team collects information from students, and based on these data points, recommends a potential career path for the student. This data-collection and analysis process was manual, labor intensive and error-prone, with multiple rule sets interpreted differently by different teachers.

Solution

Firstly, student data was collected on OMR or Optical Mark Recognition sheets, and the resulting data was exported into .csv files. Thereafter, we developed a web application that linked the .csv files to SalesForce, a customer relationships management tool. Salesforce stores and analyses the data, and resultantly creates the CareerAware Recommendation report, which computes the top career choices for each student.
