GENERAL INFORMATION
The Chili Slam is a private, adults-only event for AAFAME members and registered guests.
There is no cost to attend unless you are participating on a team; however, registration is required for all attendees and teams. Please refer to the registration links above.
Additional details specific to teams can be found on each activity’s individual rules page found above.
Event Policies
- No children allowed. This is a 21+ event.
- No glass containers or Styrofoam are allowed. This is an event policy and will be strictly enforced.
- No open carry of firearms is permitted.
- No smoking or tobacco use is allowed per venue ordinance.
- The only music permitted is that played by the event DJ.
- No generators are allowed in the general event area due to safety and noise concerns. Electricity is only available in the cook-off area if ordered in advance.
- Cooking is not permitted anywhere on site unless you are a registered cook-off team.
Parking & Transportation
- Parking is available in the lot at the venue.
- Parking lots are for vehicle parking only. No displays, booths, or material distribution are allowed in parking areas.
- Golf carts will be running between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM to assist with transportation around the event site.
- Rides home are available for anyone who needs assistance. Please contact event security if needed.
- Security and off-duty police officers will onsite throughout the event. Please do not drink and drive.
Tents, Seating & Personal Items
- Canopy tents (10’ x 10’ recommended) are allowed only in designated areas and must be coordinated with the event coordinator.
- Unless you reserved your tent location in advance, the day of placement will be first-come, first-served based on availability.
- Sponsor tents may begin setup at 8:00 AM and will receive preferred placement.
- Limited tents and seating are available onsite.
- Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and sunscreen.
Pets
We love pets—but for their safety and comfort, pets are not allowed at the event.
Large crowds and noise can be overwhelming, so please leave furry friends at home.
Food, Beverages & Wristbands
- Food will be available throughout the afternoon, provided by the cook-off teams.
- Food is free for participants wearing wristbands.
- Wristbands are free for registered team participants, members, and guests.
- Wristbands will be distributed at the entrance gates upon arrival to those registered in advance.
- Teams should then proceed to the registration tent to pick up team bags.
- Please do not request large quantities of wristbands for groups—wristbands are issued individually.
- Drinking water will be available onsite.
- Attendees may bring their own snacks and beverages, but only cook-off teams may prepare food using cooking equipment.
- Any team giving food or drink to the general public requires a Heath Dept permit.
Arrival & Registration Times
- Registration opens at 8:00 AM.
- Teams should check in at the registration tent upon arrival to pick up shirts and receive directions to their event areas.
- Cook-off teams may begin setup between 7:30 AM and 10:00 AM, depending on team type.
- Volleyball, Horseshoes, and Washers participants may arrive starting at 10:00 AM.
Tear Down
- Tear down may not begin until after 5:30 PM or close of show, whichever comes first.
Early tear down may result in disqualification.
Responsible Drinking
AAFAME encourages responsible drinking. AAFAME and its members are not responsible for transportation to or from the event; however, assistance will be provided if needed. If you have consumed alcohol and are unable to drive safely, please see a Chili Slam Committee member or event security for assistance. If a taxi is required, AAFAME will cover the cost, and the individual will be responsible for reimbursement.
