EMAS Presents

EMAS Presents is an experimental and improvised music series curated by Seth Andrew Davis + Evan Verploegh. An extension of the collective Extemporaneous Music & Arts Society, EMAS Presents highlights local, national, and international music practitioners to grow Kansas City’s improvised music community.

In(SITE)

Curated by Patrick Alexander, Residency + Programs Manager at Charlotte Street, In(SITE) is a series that showcases contemporary works that push boundaries, take risks, and demonstrate excellence in the performing arts. “In(SITE) provides a platform for audiences to immerse themselves in performances that defy the norms of traditional productions,” says Alexander. “Through their visionary concepts and collaborative execution, the artists will captivate and engage audiences, presenting them with innovative approaches to performance.”

ProdoLAB

ProdoLAB is a bimonthly experimental platform in partnership with musician/composer Eddie Moore that pairs Kansas City time-based artists, producers, and musicians to collaborate on a new piece for a one-night-only showcase at Charlotte Street. Each performance is followed by a Q&A session with the artists.

Writer’s Cirlce

A free, casual space to write together, build practice, and be in community.

BLK + BRWN., in collaboration with Charlotte Street, invites you to join us for Writer’s Circle — a free, casual writing gathering designed for practice and connection.

We’ll spend two hours responding to prompts, writing quietly alongside one another, and sharing (if you’d like). No experience required. The intention is simple: to create space for practice. Whether you’ve been writing for years or haven’t written since school, you are welcome here. This space is open to anyone who’s been meaning to write.

Coffee and pastries provided.
