Please be aware about important behaviour change between bash version 4.3 and 4.4. You can observe it for example while migrating from Oracle Linux 7 to 8/CentOS 7 to Rocky Linux 8/etc. as version 7 of RHEL compatible system comes with bash 4.2, whereas version 8 with bash 4.4.

Side effect of ExaWatcher workaround for LSOF check

While analysing the problem with ExaWatcher not being able to start, I found quite nasty side effect of a workaround implemented in recent versions of this useful tool. In fact, you will hit it only on Exadata X7 where you had previously implemented another workaround described in Disable lsof on Exadata Cloud to avoid reboot issues (Doc ID 2595022.1) MOS note.
