To further protect the Raisely platform from high-volume spam, we have introduced a rate limit on blog post creation.

The Limit: Up to 3 blog posts within a 24-hour window.

Who it affects: Both Fundraisers and Internal Admin Users.

Based on our usage data, the vast majority of Raisely organizations already publish within this limit, so you likely won't see any change to your daily workflow. This is part of our ongoing effort to prevent automated spam and ensure platform stability for everyone.

Improvement

We have updated how donors adjust the Raisely platform fee contribution during checkout. This change makes the interaction easier to understand for donors who choose to edit the suggested amount.

What’s changing

• Donors will see an Edit option next to the suggested platform fee contribution.
• Selecting Edit opens a slider that lets donors choose how much they would like to contribute.

What’s not changing

• This is not a pricing change.
• This does not change your organisation’s fee model.
• Donors still have full choice over whether to contribute toward the Raisely platform fee.

Why we made this update

We are continually refining the donation experience so it stays smooth and intuitive for donors. This update helps make the platform fee choice more intentional and easier to adjust in the moment.

As a reminder, when donors do choose to contribute, it helps cover the cost of running and improving Raisely, which is what allows us to keep the platform free for nonprofits while continuing to invest in reliability, support, and new features.

Overview

To help protect your campaigns from spam and bot activity, Captcha verification is now enabled by default across your campaign forms. These settings are available now under Settings > Fraud Protection > Spam Protection.

Captcha is active on all campaigns by default. You can review and adjust your settings at any time.

Available Settings

• Blog Posts Captcha — Requires visitors to complete a quick challenge before creating or editing blog posts. Reduces spam in your campaign's blog and comment sections.
• Signups Captcha — Requires new fundraisers to complete a quick challenge during main campaign signup. Reduces fake or bot signups on your campaign.
• Lead Forms Captcha — Requires visitors to complete a quick challenge before submitting email capture and lead forms. Reduces spam submissions on your lead gen forms.
• Member Signup Captcha — Requires visitors to complete a quick challenge when adding themselves as a member of a team or group page (e.g. "Join this team"). Reduces spam and bot-created members on team and group fundraisers.

How to Manage Your Settings

1. Go to your campaign's Settings > Fraud Protection
2. Under Spam Protection, review the Captcha settings for each form type
3. Toggle settings on or off based on your needs. Changes take effect immediately

For API Users

Captcha is enabled by default, but if you have API integrations that create signups or member profiles, this could interrupt automated workflows. Specifically, check for integrations that call:

• POST /posts
• POST /users/upsert (when interaction.categoryPath === 'lead-form-submitted')
• POST /profiles/{path}/members
• POST /campaigns/{campaign}/register

If your workflows are affected, you can disable specific Captcha toggles on individual campaigns under Settings > Fraud Protection. We recommend testing with Captcha enabled before rolling it out on production campaigns. If you run into issues, contact our support team and we can help you find the right approach.

To keep your data clean and reliable, we’ve introduced light safeguards on a small set of public API write routes.

These routes were recently targeted by bots creating fake profiles and posts on legitimate fundraising pages. These safeguards slow automated abuse without impacting normal use.

This update applies only to unauthenticated public write routes. Your authenticated API integrations, donors, and fundraisers are not affected.

What is the change?

We’ve added request limits to the following routes:

POST /campaigns/{campaign}/register

POST /profiles/{path}/members

POST /profiles/{path}/profiles

POST /posts

When does it apply?

Effective from Monday, 10 November 2025

Do I need to do anything?

• Orgs who are not using the Raisely API won't be affected.

• If you have a bulk use case for these specific routes, contact Support ([email protected]) with your IPs.

Who is affected?

• Public, unauthenticated writes on the routes listed above

• Authenticated API endpoints are unchanged

Developer details

• Exceeding the limit returns HTTP 429 (Too Many Requests) with standard X‑RateLimit headers

• Limits apply in a rolling 1‑hour window per IP per route

• These safeguards are implemented at the edge to reduce automated abuse while keeping legitimate traffic flowing.

How will this affect my account?

During this time, Raisely may be temporarily unavailable. This means the Raisely admin, campaign sites, and donations may not load, or you may experience delays.

While you may not experience any interruptions, we wanted to prepare you just in case! If you are having issues loading campaign sites, logging into your account or loading the admin during the maintenance period, rest assured this is only temporary.

Your campaigns, data, and donors will be safe and sound! You should expect to see systems return to normal once all maintenance is complete or even sooner.

What can I do to prepare?

We’d recommend you consider delaying any major updates to your campaign or launching your campaign site during the maintenance period.

If you have regular donors scheduled for their next payment during this window, not to worry! Those regular donations will be paused during the maintenance period and will be charged automatically once complete.

As part of ongoing Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance requirements, we’re introducing a small change to help your admin users improve the security of your Raisely account.

This change only applies to admin users with access to your Raisely account. Your donors and fundraisers will not be affected.

What is the change? 🤷

All Raisely admin user passwords must meet a minimum length of 12 characters. You will be prompted to update your password whenever you login to your Raisely account to ensure you are compliant.

When does it apply? ⏰

All admins will be required to update their password from the 31st March 2025. Reset it now to avoid any interruptions to your access.

How do I update my password? 🖱️

Simply reset your password prior to logging in or head to your personal account settings in your left panel and update.

Does your organisation use SAML SSO to login to Raisely? 💻

Reach out to your IT team or identity provider to enforce 12 character passwords for all admins to ensure they are compliant.
