A British rock star, was set to step his foot on Indian land.
This time, not to sing in a bar or to shoot for a music video.
But to give the fans The greatest reason to be alive.
Expectations were sky high, if not more.
Global Citizen was the reason to galore.
Action Journeys, and free tickets
We, Indians couldn’t have asked for more.
Coldplay is atrocious, downright pathetic, over-hyped.
Few others, go on to say – “Mediocre band at best.” And then you hear the other clan chime.
For whom – Coldplay is – A source of inspiration, An emotion, Nothing short of life.
Here, we are,
Today, 4th December,2016 – exactly 1 year after the release of latest Coldplay album – A Head Full of Dreams. What they have left behind after Indian gig is nothing short of a “surreal feeling.” Music, as many people say, is a healer. It has the tremendous power to feed our soul and make us bold.
When it comes to Coldplay, it’s not just about their piece of music, or their rendition, or the musical composition, it’s about the connect. It’s about the strings attached and the chords that they strike, not just of guitar but also of our hearts.
Dubbed as the musically delicate and lyrically razor-sharped,
Coldplay continues to enthrall by raking in unique songs always adding a new dimension to their already rich repertoire.
We may not have experienced their journey from Pectoralz to Starfish to Coldplay. But sure they have made our Action journey worth enjoying. For the 80,000 fans present at Bandra Kurla Complex, a choc-a-bloc concert and for the rest of the world glued to the live streaming, It surely was a Night to be remembered. Every beat, every drop was cheered, jeered and braced with a loud round of applause.
The mic drop moment was when Christopher Anthony John Martin sang
Vande Mataram with none other than, Indian maestro – Allah-Rakha Rahman
Channa Mereya Mereya, Shukriya Shukriya – were his way of showing Gratitude and Tribute to all the fans who fought hard for tickets, battled the blazing sun, stood for 12 hours and wintered the storm of endless pushing, asphyxiation.
Coldplay has risen to the upper echelons of pop music, thanks to their originality, grandiosity and more importantly the connect with the real world.
Coldplay is more than just a band, its a way of living.

Yellow
One of my all time favourites. My first Coldplay song.
About – Undying, relentless love for that person – spouse, best friend, parents, anyone.
to be yellow – to be afraid, timid and basically sh*t scared
Look at the stars
Look how they shine for you
And everything you do
Yeah they were all yellow
Trying to look up at the stars, and how the universe is conspiring and cheering you, for you have managed to shed all the fears and act like a man.
Your skin
Oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
To those who claim, there’s no poetical beauty in Coldplay. Here’s one for you –
Synecdoche – Your skin and bones – stand for the entire you
Simultaneously the metaphor – skin for physical appearance / outer self
and bones – real true inner self
Have now successfully transformed into a beautiful form.
A Rush Of Blood To The Head, 26 August, 2002
In My place
Helpless individual – waiting, endless, unedning, seems like an eternity
while there is 1 part of him which asks – how long must one wait for it?..
the other one – undying hopes, eternal optimist as they say – willing to play the waiting game.
The Scientist
Nobody said it was easy
It's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard
Oh take me back to the start
turns into
I'm going back to the start
When the pangs of seperation and break-up, grow heavier than the misunderstandings, the vicious circle of problems and persistent tail-chasing ..
Another beautifully sculpted song and powerful rendition
Clocks
Am I a part of the cure?
Or am I part of the disease?
Highlights the – moral conundrum, psychitric maelstrom – “Am I accepted by the world or am I an outcast?”
The fear, fear of running out of time – the time to live
Fix You
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
Most soothing yet envigorating song
It revitalizes all your crushed hopes and resurrects these dreams to rise from ashes like the Phoenix.

Paradise
Life goes on, it gets so heavy
The wheel breaks the butterfly
Every tear a waterfall
In the night the stormy night she'll close her eyes
In the night the stormy night away she'd fly
So lying underneath those stormy skies
She'd say, "oh, ohohohoh I know the sun must set to rise"
Highlights – Utopia / Shangri-La
About the girl who’s toying with the notion that changing a part of her life, altering some aspect of her existence will produce a positive outcome and maybe turn her unfortunate life into her paradise.
It’s not just about wishful thinking
but about deriving valuable inspiration and motivation manifested in our own dreams
Every teardrop is waterfall
I'd rather be a comma than a full stop
Comma – sign of contradiction to come
Banner for Transition and rebellion
Also played live at the Steve Jobs memorial/celebration-of-life event at Apple headquarters on 19 October 2011 in Cupertino, California,
Ghost Stories, 19 May, 2014
A sky full of stars
And I don't care go on and tear me apart
And I don't care if you do
Cause in a sky cause in a sky full of stars
I think I see you
Ink
Metaphorical pain of a breakup and Physical pain of being tattoed
Got a tattoo and the pain's alright
Just want a way of keeping you inside
Ironically, the C on Gwyneth Paltrow’s hip and G on Chris Martin’s arm bear testimony to the same.
Ghost stories is a pick of the albums when it comes to heartbreaks and relationship crisis. Songs portray a variety of moods swinging from
Dreamy = “Always in my head” to
Desperate = “Ink” – I love you so much it hurts
Last ditch pleas for reconciliation = “True Love” – “So tell me that you love me/ And if you don’t then lie to me”
Turning finally to the conciliatory statement, a bittersweet recognition of “Time to move on” amazingly captured by – “A Sky full of stars”
A Head Full Of Dreams, 4 December, 2015
An album 180 degree turn from melancholic Ghost stories is a total redemption
That sentiment of missing, waiting, yearning, despair all has faded and now ..
Its all about Fixing the car, Driving it again, Searching for water, Hoping for the rain
Mending the soul, Preparing it for life, Looking for new opportunities, In a positive light
Everglow
So if you love someone, you should let them know
oh the light that you left me will everglow
Up and Up
Lying in the gutter, aiming for the moon
trying to empty out the ocean with a spoon
Up and Up, Up and Up
Highlights the Personification of an Eternal optimist
Lying in gutter = Hit the rock bottom
Thus, left with no other place but up
Impossible can be turned into possible..
