Production

Canada’s cereals sector leads the country’s agriculture exports with annual exports to over 80 countries with an estimated value of $12.1 billion CAD. The global scale and scope of our exports demonstrate the flexibility and value that Canadian cereals offer to our customers and provide valuable market diversification.

Canada is a leading global exporter of cereal commodities and proudly holds the position as the world’s number one exporter of durum wheat and oats. By mobilizing the value chain across priority areas, Cereals Canada is building on Canada’s position as a reliable, nutritious, and sustainable supplier of cereal grains.

Farmers are at the heart
of what we do.

Grown by farmers across our country, wheat, barley, and oats are planted on over 14 million hectares each year, producing over 45 million tonnes of food.

The direct economic impact of these crops is significant at $25.9 billion per year. Sales of these crops return over $13 billion per year to Canadian farms and unlock almost $12.1 billion annually through global exports.
