My friend
hardboiledbaby gave me the letter "O":
Something I hate: It's hard to come up with something that I *hate* --- but there are some things that I dislike: octopi (I don't know, I think I'm creeped out by their bodies, though I think their legs are interesting. Either way, I sure don't want to *eat* them!), opera (especially when I have a headache, it's just kind of shriek-y for my taste), and oysters (ick!).
Something I love: Oranges, and other citrus fruits! I know they're acidic, so that's bad for your stomach and your teeth, but I love the zingy flavor of all things citrus, especially oranges.
Somewhere I've been: Oklahoma! My husband and I have driven twice to Fort Worth, Texas, so we drove through OK to get there. I have to admit, the state didn't make a big impression on me, it was just one more state to go through to get to TX, you might say it was just ... "OK".
But I like the musical. :-)
We've also been to Oregon. I liked Portland the best, what a cool, quirky city! Powell's Books and Voodoo Doughnuts both rock!
Somewhere I'd like to go: Oslo, Norway! My ancestors came from Norway, and I'd love to see the Scandinavian countries someday. I'd especially like to go there on a cruise and see the frozen fjords.
Someone I know:
oasis3017, who hasn't posted to LJ in quite awhile, now that I think of it, but she writes beautifully when she does!
A film I like: "O Brother Where Art Thou?" -- George Clooney just played the hell out of a Southern convict con man on the run. The movie is funny, has great music (like "I am a Man of Constant Sorrow" and "Down to the River to Pray"), great performances, and is the most interesting take on Homer's "Odyssey" that I can ever imagine.
If you want to play, leave a comment for a letter of your very own!
