I added a few Easter decorations in front of my porch goose.
Inside the Easter basket is a pretty egg that I found at a thrift store.
This egg opens up and has a lovely Easter scene inside. I found out that it's a vintage hinged Diorama Easter Egg. I've never had one before, I'm so glad I found it!

I've wanted a porch goose for awhile now, but most of them have legs that are molded to the base and I like when the legs are separate. Walking past the window at Hallmark I saw this lovely Porch goose with separated legs and went in to buy her right away! They were running a 20 percent off sale on the entire store, so it was great timing. I also picked up a couple of cute outfits. The one she's wearing now is called "Hydrangea Happiness". I'd like to give her a name but I haven't decided on one yet. :)

Happy St Patrick's Day! We have live music performances here at least twice a week. Yesterday for an early celebration of St Patrick's Day there was a performance by the Haggis Brothers that I enjoyed very much. I found this vid on youtube that gives a good example of what their music sounds like.

I've been thinking about ways to be more active in helping those in need. And then this week, the staff put out a large barrel and sign in our lobby asking for donations in support of our neighborhood Hygiene Center. They want to fill 15 backpacks with essential items. The sign lists the items needed: socks, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, first aid kits, wet wipes, non-perishable food, hair combs and brushes, gloves, reusualbe water bottles, soap, batteries, chapstick, deodorant. After making some donations, I joined in when they asked us to help distribute the items into the backpacks.
This Hygiene Center has showers (10,000 provided in 2025), restrooms, hygiene supplies, clothing and food. Local churches provide hot meals. There's also an area for social services to meet with people seeking assistance.
They're always accepting donations (with a list of items always needed) and I plan to continue to help.

I love my computer and iphone and can't imagine life without it. We have advances in medicine and so many other areas. At the same time, I miss how things used to be. Growing up in the 60's and 70's, those were special times. The 80's and 90's were also great in their own way.
We have book club here the first Wednesday of every month. Recently I've been using audio versions as well and enjoying it a lot. The narrators gives the characters their own unique voices and help bring the story to life. Do any of you enjoy listening to audio books?

At the grocery store I was surprised to see Spring Amaryllis bulbs! Usually they're a Christmas seasonal thing. This one is a pretty pink which fits this time of year. I'll post progress pics as it grows and blooms. :)
Two years ago, my neighbor took small cuttings from a poinsettia plant and rooted them in water. Picking the one that had the most roots, he planted it in soil, transplanting it again as it grew bigger. I'm impressed that it's doing so well! Poinsettias are senstive and don't like too much or too little water. This one is nice and bushy and healthy!
I love that he's put it outside his apartment door for awhile so we can see its beauty and enjoy the process pictures of all the stages of its growth.
Happy 1st day of March! And Happy National Pig Day and National Horse Protection Day.
It's been a long winter and I know many of you are looking foward to Spring. We got lucky this year and didn't have any snow, while other areas of the country had tons of it. Hopefully nice weather is on its way for all of us! :)
