CardRecovery is a media recovery tool capable of retrieving any JPEG and TIFF image files, together with a number of RAW formats from the most popular camera manufacturers, such as Olympus, Canon, Nikon, Minolta, or Sony, among others. Besides, it can also bring back to life lost, deleted, and formatted WAV, MP3, AVI, MPEG, MOV, and MP4 audio and video files, to name some of the most supported media formats.

Designed as a four-step wizard, CardRecovery will first detect all the cards plugged in into your computer, and will let you select the one you wish to scan. You can also decide here the type of media files you wish to recover, including any combination of image, audio, and video files. Step 2 will launch a deep yet fast sector by sector scan process in order to recover as many images, videos, and audio tracks as possible. Step 3 takes you to the Preview & Select stage – here you will be shown a list of all the media files found following your search criteria, and you will be able to preview those that can be recovered and acknowledge those that the program cannot possibly retrieve. The last step – the one that would make you jump from your seat and wave your hands in the air – is not available in the program’s trial version, so it is difficult to assess if the program does or doesn’t work.
