L'amfipitec (Amphipithecus mogaungensis) és una espècie extinta de primat de la família dels amfipitècids que visqué al sud-est asiàtic durant l'Eocè, fa entre 37,7 i 41 milions d'anys. Se n'han trobat restes fòssils a Myanmar. Es tracta de l'única espècie del gènere Amphipithecus. Es nodria de fruita, llavors i núcules.[1] En comparació amb el seu parent proper Pondaungia, l'amfipitec és més petit i té la tercera i quarta dents premolars inferiors (p3 i p4) menys reduïdes.[2] Tanmateix, hi ha autors que imputen aquestes diferències al dimorfisme sexual[3] i, per tant, consideren Amphipithecus un sinònim de Pondaungia.[4]
