The more a financial product is profitable and cost effective the more it is technically feasible to be adopted in a market. Therefore, in this paper, attempts are made to study the technical feasibility of one of the major Islamic Finance contracts - Murabaha in comparison to the prevailing modes of finance in conventional finance. This paper explores the impacts of Indian taxation laws and provisions on Murabaha. Further, it proposes the possible solutions to make Murabaha technically feasible and viable for adoption in the Indian market.

There are various socio-economic factors causing poverty at different level. A considerable proportion of the India’s population lives below poverty line. Muslims fall under one of the poorest communities in India. Numerous reports confirming the socio-economical condition of Muslims in India reveals that Muslims are either equal or worse than the backward classes. In spite of some initiatives taken by the Government of India (GOI) to improve their lot, there seems no much change in pathetic condition of Muslim community. They are caught in a vicious circle of poverty. Therefore, in the present paper our focus is to highlight the important factors responsible for sad state of affairs of the Indian Muslims and comprehensive strategies needed to combat poverty and further enable them to stand and play a key role in economic development of the country from Islamic perspective. in the light of Islamic teachings have been discussed. In the conclusion a few practical measures have been proposed for the subjected issue.
