It shall be done in order to demonstrate how Shafli lawyers went ahead of their contemporaries in development of this sensitive area of law and to show how important was this issue in Shafli law. Along with identification of the main features of Shafli law of religious minorities such as classification of non-Muslim subjects, restrictions imposed on them and taxation issues, the present study shall analyse Shafii jurisprudence as it developed through law of religious minorities.
