The HIV/AIDS pandemic is steadily increasing in severity throughout the developing world. Recently, Southeast Asia has become a rising concern for health care professionals in the field of infectious disease (UNAIDS, 2004). Most of Southeast Asia is experiencing surging prevalence and incidence rates of HIV infection. One particular country of interest is India. India's population has surpassed one billion, making it the world's second most populated country. India's large population exacerbates the problematic scenario of HIV sero-prevalence rates that are increasing throughout the country and region (De Cock & Weiss, 2000; UNAIDS, 2004).

Youths in India lack knowledge about HIV and also have misconceptions about modalities of transmission and many harbor negative attitudes towards those who test positive for HIV. In order to decrease transmission rates among youth quality HIV/AIDS education must be implemented in a culturally relevant manner. Th e 76 million Americans in the Baby Boomer population are the force behind the changing demographic picture of society today. Boomers' spending habits and lifestyle choices will also have a powerful infl uence on retirement and leisure in the coming decades. Boomers will redefi ne retirement and are expected to demand more than current senior programs and facilities off er. It will be profoundly important for recreation professionals to understand the leisure values of this cohort in order to provide adequate programs, facilities, and services. Th e purpose of this study was to explore the recreation and leisure values and preferences of tomorrow's seniors-as compared to current and past generations of seniors-to try to understand what boomers will be seeking in community recreation programs. Diff erences in the recreation and leisure values and preferences of boomer generation men and women are also explored.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a nutritional program on the nutritional knowledge of children and adolescents with visual impairments. The results indicated that there was a significant difference between the scores of the experimental and control groups and that age and vision had no effect on the acquisition of nutritional knowledge.

As the Baby Boomers turn 65, there will be two cohorts of older adults with potentially different perspectives and expectations toward recreation and leisure. Because society demands the use of technology, recreation providers are challenged to fulfill the needs of two different cohorts that share the age of retirement. This study describes how Boomers and seniors utilize technology within a master-planned senior living community setting. Boomers report being more engaged with technology to remain socially connected with friends and family, especially female Boomers. Seniors are utilizing technology, but less frequently, especially Senior females. Recommendations for recreation professionals are provided.
