This 1987 GMC Caballero is of 1,882 produced for its model year. It was optioned with a 5.0-liter V8, F41 firm-ride suspension, and the Diablo appearance package, which included two-color paint, a front air dam, sport mirrors, and 14″ rally wheels. Its gray interior features air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, ADS speakers, and an Alpine stereo. The vehicle was delivered new to California, and it was acquired by its current owner in 1988. This Caballero Diablo shows just 34k miles, and it is offered by the seller at no reserve with a build sheet, 1988 sales documents, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean California title in the owner’s name.

The body’s black and silver finish is accented by red and gray pinstripes, and other exterior details include a front air dam, a hood ornament, chrome bumpers, quad halogen headlights, sport mirror caps, and a receiver hitch. The 79.5″ box has a tonneau cover and a drop-in bedliner.

The 14″ Rally wheels are mounted with older 205/70 Pirelli P77 thin-whitewall tires. The optioned F41 firm-ride suspension included thicker sway bars, firmer springs, and revised dampers. Vacuum-assisted front disc brakes are paired with rear drums for stopping power. The shock absorbers were replaced in 2005, per the seller.

The gray interior has cloth upholstery, air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, ADS speakers, and an Alpine cassette stereo that is said to have been installed in 1992.

The steering wheel is mounted on a tilt column, and it fronts an 85-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The position indicator for the shifter is not working. The five-digit odometer shows 34k miles, ~15k of which were added under current ownership.

The 5.0-liter V8 was equipped at the factory with a Rochester four-barrel carburetor, and it was rated when new at 135 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque. The vehicle most recently passed a California emissions test in July 2024.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a differential with 2.73:1 gearing.
The build sheet lists factory colors, equipment, and delivery to Bonander Pontiac of Turlock, California.
The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage.
